COVID-19 shocked the educational sector around the world. In this study, the primary goal is to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on academic achievement and flexible learning satisfaction among Nueva Vizcaya State University Hospitality Management sophomores. Specifically, the researchers aimed to examine the demographic profile of hospitality management students, as well as their impressions of the COVID-19's effects on academic achievement, satisfaction with flexible learning, and the interaction of the variables.
The study's sample comprised of 91 Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management students chosen at random enrolled in the first semester of the school year 2021-2022. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the acquired data. The data demonstrated that the COVID-19 outbreak has both beneficial and negative effects on Nueva Vizcaya State University Hospitality Management students' academic performance. They believed that the pandemic's strong positive impact on their academic achievement was bringing them closer to achieving their career objectives. They did agree, however, that the difficulty of connecting with teachers during the COVID-19 lockdown had an influence on their academic achievement. Moreover, the pandemic has had an equal amount of positive and negative impact on their academic achievement. Despite this, the BSHM respondents remained satisfied since some felt good about their performance in the course. Furthermore, respondents were blown away by the teacher's enthusiasm and assessment during the online learning. They are quite pleased with the university's online teaching application.
Furthermore, regardless of the type of Learning Management System used, respondents have similar perspectives on COVID-19's impact on academic achievement and satisfaction. Finally, COVID-19 was found to have a significant and strong positive relationship with respondents' academic progress and level of satisfaction with flexible learning.
