500			_aThis study was conducted in four municipalities of Apayao Province namely, Luna, Flora, Pudtol and Calanasan, with the aim of assessing soil conservation practices in the region. The research design employed descriptive, survey methods along with field observations. A total of 75 farmers participated as respondents in the study. The findings revealed six (6) prevalent soil conservation practices in Apayao province, including strip cropping, tillage, cover crops, windbreaks, terraces, contouring and residue management. These practices were observed to significantly contribute to enhancing production yield and safeguarding soil integrity. Furthermore, respondent insight provided valuable perspectives on perceived benefits of these practices. Among the findings, 38 respondents underscored their role in watershed protection, 35 recognized their efficacy in soil erosion prevention and soil stabilization, while 32 acknowledged cost reduction implications. Additionally, respondents attributed these practices to environmental resource preservation (16) and climate mitigation (7).
