| 500 | _aThe study aimed to assess the effects of various rooting hormones (IBA and ANAA) and their different concentrations on broad-winged apitong cuttings. The study was composed of ten treatments arranged in a two-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with Factor A representing the different concentrations and Factor B representing the various rooting hormones. Each treatment was replicated four times, with five samples per replication. The experiment showed that IBA (16%) was better than ANAA (5%) at promoting root growth. With IBA, a much higher percentage of cuttings were rooted, and the roots were more numerous and longer (mean number 8 and 0.75, respectively). ANAA only produced roots in a couple of cuttings, and the roots were much shorter. IBA was also better for shoot growth than ANAA. A higher percentage of cuttings produced shoots with IBA (33.75%), and the shoots were longer (0.6). There were some significant differences in its interaction effect with a value of 3.06 and 2.24 in IBA and ANAA respectively. In conclusion, IBA was a much more effective rooting hormone than ANAA for broad-winged apitong cuttings. It increased survival rate, root development, and shoot growth. | ||
