500			_aThe study was conducted to determine the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondu in backyard raised goats (Capra hircus) in the municipalities of Ambaguio, Kayapa, Sta. Fe. and Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines Serum samples from 96 goats were collected and subjected to antibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to determine presence of T. gondin IgG antibodies Individual animal profiles were also determined including health and body condition Farmers' demographic profile and the current farm production and management conditions were recorded during interview Correlations between prevalence and the animal and farm information were also determined. The over-all T. gondu seroprevalence is 5104% (49/96) for the five municipalities. No significant relationships were found between the seropositivity of T.gondu and parameters related to health and management program other factors such as buying of infected goats through local markets and introducing them to the herds may be related to the exposure of goats to T. gondii which resulted in their seropositivity Further studies utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay are recommended to verify the presence of T. gondii antigen.
