500			_aThis study aimed to determine the effects of tourist characteristics to perceived importance of tourist destination in Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. Survey questionnaire was adopted from the study Morachat, 2003. The said questionnaire was distributed randomly to 108 tourists who visit Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. Data were gathered from January 15-30, 2019. This study use chi-square test of the independence to determine the relationship between the tourist characteristics and perceived importance of tourist destinations in Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. Descriptive statistics was mainly utilized to identify the tourist characteristics of the respondents and the perceived importance of the destination attributes, particularly the frequency and percentage, and mean and standard deviation, respectively. Pearson-r correlation coefficients were computed to identify the relationship between the tourist characteristics and their perceptions on the importance of destination attributes. Based on the foregoing results, the researchers concluded that the tourist characteristics: age, gender and highest educational attainment have an effect on their perceptions regarding the importance of particular destination attributes. In addition, majority of the tourists visit the place mainly for leisure, education and visit of friends and relatives.
