500 _aThe study was conducted in Cuyambay Tanay Rizal where Buho is seen to be widely distributed and cultivated. Ten (10) plots (5 m x 5 m) were randomly established. Three (3) culms were harvested from each clump having a total of thirty (30) culms. It was found out that Buho tends to thrive in an elevation ranging from 419 - 460 masl. It was further found out that Buho has a mean height of 8.37 m, 6.46 cm diameter at breast height (DBH) and 6.05 mm thickness (TBH). All parameters measured showed no statistical differences among plots. On the calculation of the total aboveground biomass of Buho, individual components were first assessed. The culm component contributed 66.44% on the totalization of the aboveground biomass density having 49.29 ton/ha, branch with 18. 53% having 13.75 ton/ha and leaves with only 15.03% having 11.15 ton/ha. Hence, this study resulted to 74.19 ton/ha total aboveground biomass density. In terms of the aboveground carbon stock of Buho, the culm component showed the biggest contribution to the total aboveground carbon stock density having a mean of 21. 98 ton/ha, followed by the branch with 5.43 ton/ha, and the least was with leaves at 3.94 ton/ha. The total aboveground carbon stock density was 31.35 ton/ha which showed no statistical variation across plots. Findings show that the culm component contributed 70.12% of the total aboveground carbon stock density of Buho, followed by the branch component with 17.32% and the least was with leaves having only 12.56% of the contribution. Thus, making Buho's capacity to store carbon comparable to other tree plantation species. Hence, Buho showed to have the potential to store atmospheric carbon. Thus, promoting bamboo plantations and utilizing bamboo products would not only help in managing climate change but also support farmers.
