The study was conducted to test the potability of purified water marketed in refilling stations present in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. The water samples were collected every after two days.

Water samples came from different stations with different water purification stages. Twelve stations were used coming from the list of registered refilling stations released by the municipals licensing office.

Water samples were subjected to Multiple-tube fermentation technique or presence absence procedure was used through the presumptive-confirmed-completed test for the total and fecal coliform.

Based on the test, it shows that there are eight (8) refilling stations that showed gas bubbles which are indicative of positive results. This means that coliforms were present in water samples.

It is therefore recommended that refilling stations personnel must regularly check the water purification machines and must have regular water testing in accredited laboratories. Consumers must be concerned since that contaminated water can bring outbreak of disease in the community.
