Informants of the study were classified into three, namely: 1) School Head, 2) Teachers, and 3) Learners. The qualitative method of research was employed to gather baseline data. Participant observation, focused group discussion, and face-to-face interviews were conducted while educational theories connected to the findings were used to give meaning to the study. From the research, it was learned that multi-grade teachers did not have the formal training needed to ensure quality delivery of the teaching and learning process and to elicit good performance from the learners. The study further established that the teachers were left with their own devices to ensure the delivery of learning competencies in the different levels assigned to them. From the study, it was also learned that commitment and dedication were very important in surmounting numerous problems encountered by the multi-grade teachers. Among the more significant problems identified by the multi-grade teachers and validated by ocular visits were those that pertained to time, preparation, facilities, supplies, equipment and instructional materials, curriculum content and design, monitoring, evaluation and feedback mechanisms. Coping mechanisms adopted to address the above problems included subject integration in planning, adopting the same preparatory activity but with different levels of difficulty, the use of daily log plans instead of detailed plans, training the learners to become para-teachers, and following a strict classroom program. Groupings, sound class management, peer teaching ("each one teach one"), were among the most common techniques used by the multi-grade teachers. | Thesis (Master of Education - Educational Administration) 28 cm..

Place hold on An ethnography of multi-grade teaching in a cultural community/

Predictors of academic performance of bachelor of physical education (bpe) students of the Nueva Vizcaya State University/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Abon, Joel T..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
xiii, 89 leaves; , This study determined the factors that significantly predict the level of academic performance of Bachelor in Physical Education sophomore and junior students in their major subjects. The general objective was pursued by describing the student-related factors, the faculty-related factors, and the school-related factors; and the level of academic performance of BPE students in their major subjects. It also tested the predictors that significantly influence the level of academic performance of BPE students in their major subjects as well as the relationship between the level of academic performance of BPE students in their major subjects and the faculty-related factors. The study was undertaken in the two campuses of the Nueva Vizcaya State University Bambang and Bayombong campuses. A total of 38 randomly chosen students and five (5) faculty members served as respondents of this study. A structured questionnaire was constructed and administered to the students taking BPE, and the faculty members teaching PE. The data on the academic performance of the students were gathered from secondary sources. The data were analyzed using descriptive (frequency counts, percentages, means, standard deviations) and inferential statistics (Multiple Regression and Pearson r). The study found out that the BPE program of the University is dominated by sophomore Ilocano students who avowed the Roman Catholic faith. Almost all of them did not hold membership to any student organization. Majority of the BPE students have fathers who were holders of secondary diploma and are famers while their mothers were college undergraduate and are managing their own businesses. The BPE students have an average of four (4) siblings. The BPE program is manned by married faculty members with master's degrees whose area of expertise is Music, Arts, PE and Health. They come from various ethnicities professing the Roman Catholic faith. Majority of them sought continuing education and have spent five (5) years in the teaching profession. All faculty-respondents are instructors by rank. In the University, there is enough sports equipment to be used by the BPE students. However, the University cannot fully cater to the needs of its students as it still lacks some sports facilities such as gymnastic arena, boxing ring and swimming pool. Faculty members of the BPE program continuously employ a variety of teaching methods when teaching PE subjects. The BPE students performed satisfactorily in their major subjects. The occupation of the students' fathers predicts their satisfactory performance in their major subjects. PE teachers with master's degrees and those who have been teaching PE for a period of time, have students who performed satisfactorily in their major subjects. The availability of sports equipment and facilities in taekwondo and archery and the use of role playing as a teaching strategy predict the satisfactory performance of BPE students in their major subjects. Further, it used the descriptive-inferential method in determining the relationship between the demographic profile of teachers and their level of motivation in terms of extrinsic and intrinsic motivators and job performance. This study was conducted during the first semester of school year 2015-2016 in the two campuses of Nueva Vizcaya State University using 127 randomly selected teachers who served as respondents. A validated researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather pertinent data that substantiated the theme of this research. Frequencies and percentages were used in treating the data on demographic profile and mean and standard deviation to describe both levels of motivation and job performance of the respondents. Simple correlation analysis was used to test the relationship between variables while categorical regression analysis was utilized in determining the independent variables that are significantly influential to job performance of the faculty members. Nueva Vizcaya State University faculty members belonged mostly to the in-betweens of 31-40 years old; majority were males; a greater number were married; most were master's degree holders; majority were occupying instructor positions, and there were more faculty members who served for 8 years than those who served for 9 years and above. They were highly motivated extrinsically (satisfaction with salary, satisfaction with benefits, good relationships with co-workers, effective supervisor, effective senior managers and presence of core values) and intrinsically (work itself, recognition, good feelings about the organization, sense of responsibility, opportunity for advancement, professional growth opportunities and clarity of mission). In general, the job performance of the faculty members of NVSU Bayombong and Bambang campuses for second semester, 2013-2014 and first semester, 2014-2015 was described as very satisfactory. As the faculty members age, they exhibited very satisfactory job performance. Moreover, those with longer years of service and those with higher academic rank manifested a very satisfactory performance in work. Faculty members performed very satisfactorily when they were highly satisfied with their remunerations and benefits. Sense of responsibility and opportunity for advancement highly motivate the NVSU faculty members to perform their jobs well. Further, academic rank was found to be a strong predictor of job performance of faculty members. Presence of core values highly contributed to predicting job performance of faculty members. Indeed, reading serves as the anchor in the assimilation of information. But as humanity becomes more proficient in the use of technology, reading has been neglected or taken for granted. Instead of reading books and other references, children nowadays glue themselves to gadgets and video games. Scholars identify this phenomenon as a crucial period because children have difficulties in identifying words, comprehending reading texts or signs and symbols proficiently. This study identified the reading difficulties and comprehension of the respondents in oral reading among elementary pupils. The study used descriptive-inferential research method through a structured questionnaire to gather pertinent data required in the study. The study revealed mispronunciation is more prevalent among Grades 4 and Grade 5 than in Grade 3 in word recognition while Grade 1 pupils showed a higher level of substitution of a different word in reading than those in higher grade levels. Grade 3 pupils are more proficient in reading especially in word recognition compared to other grade levels. In reading proper, mispronunciation is more common in Grade 1 than in other grades. Omission of words in reading proper is more prevalent among Grade 4 pupils. Grade 1 pupils has difficulty recognizing words in reading proper. In oral reading comprehension, pupils who stammer more and have difficulty in reading proper have lower oral reading comprehension. Moreover, the following results exposed that younger pupils belonging to the lower grades whose fathers are skilled in manual labor use Tagalog as medium of communication at home and school encountered higher level of frustration in recognition of words, pronunciation, and substitution of a different word while reading. Pupils who are in the higher grade levels or those who are older, whose father are employed as skilled labors, or those with no other reading materials at home such as magazines, have encountered more difficulties during reading proper. Those whose parents are working as businesswoman or housewife displayed higher oral reading comprehension than those who have different occupation. Pupils whose teachers with more years of teaching experience encountered fewer difficulties in mispronunciation, or in the overall level of difficulties in word recognition. Pupils of teachers with more years of teaching experience, with higher educational attainment, and have attended more relevant trainings and seminars have encountered fewer difficulties in reading proper and have higher reading comprehension. | Thesis (Master of Education - Language, Reading and Numeracy) 28 cm..

Place hold on Oral reading difficulties and comprehension among elementary grade pupils in a private school/

Bisa ng pamantayan sa pagsasalin ni newmark tungo sa pagbubuo ng portpolyo ng mga pampamahalaang dokumento sa filipino/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Castro, Lhea T..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
Conventional hollow blocks, while widely used, present challenges related to weight and handling, which impact energy efficiency and construction flexibility. This thesis explored the integration of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) into hollow blocks to address these issues. EPS, known for its lightweight properties, offers potential benefits such as reduced structural weight and improved ease of handling, while also supporting environmental sustainability through the repurposing of recyclable materials. The study involved creating four mixtures of EPS-infused hollow blocks, with varying EPS content: 0% (Mixture A), 25% (Mixture B), 50% (Mixture C), and 75% (Mixture D). These mixtures were tested for compressive strength and bulk density. Results showed that Mixture B had the highest compressive strength at 3.2 MPa, a 0.79% increase compared to the control group, and a bulk density at 2251.24 kg/m³, with a 2.91% decrease from the control group. Mixture D, on the other hand, had the lowest compressive strength at 1.6 MPa, a 51.27% decrease compared to the control group, and the lightest bulk density at 1950.41 kg/m³, a 15.88% decrease from the control group. The research concludes that integrating EPS into hollow blocks can effectively balance weight and strength, with Mixture B emerging as the optimal mix for achieving the best combination of these properties. This innovation not only enhances construction efficiency and flexibility but also contributes to sustainable building practices by reducing waste and promoting the use of recycled materials. | Research paper (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Structural Engineering) 28 cm..

Place hold on Measuring the impact of recycled expanded polystyrene beads on concrete hollow block’s compressive strength and weight: a quantitative approach/

Kalanguya: the people and their language/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Guinsiman, Leticia D..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2014 .
xvii, 188 leaves : , The Kalanguya tribe is considered as a distinct indigenous group inhabiting the different regions such as: CAR, Region 1, Region 2 and Region 3. This ethno linguistic group is the least studied and described as ethnographically invisible. The following places namely: Ahin, Tabuy and Tinek in the municipality of Tinoc (Tinek), province of Ifugao in the Cordillera Region, Philippines are considered as the ancestral places of the Kalanguya. This study aimed to describe the origin, culture and language of the Kalanguya using crystallized qualitative research design. The different genres such as: ethnohistory, ethnography and ethnolinguistic are presented in this study. The sources of the data are the informants and the researcher herself. These data are analyzed using autoethnographic method, multimodal and componential method of analyses. The Kalanguya origin is described based on legend, baki and genealogy. Legendary origin and baki mentioned that the first Kalanguya ancestors were spared at Mt. Pulag during the deluge. Genealogy stories of the Kalanguya folks including some Kankana-ey, Ibaloy and Tuwali speakers, consistently mentioned Ahin Valley as the origin of their ancestors. The existence of the old rice fields and the Salt River in the area validated the point of origin. The non material culture portrayed the beliefs, values, folk songs, dances and indigenous knowledge of farming of the Kalanguya while the material culture is revealed in the foods, clothing, ornament, blanket, house, tools, equipment, music and musical instruments. The study of the language described the phonology, morphology and syntax of Kalanguya language. These descriptions justified that Kalanguya is a distinct indigenous group with a distinct culture and language. However, it is a complex ethnolinguistic group: linguistically, their language is related to Pangasinense and Ibaloy, culturally, they are related to Ibaloy, Kankana-ey and Tuwali group. | Thesis (Doctor of Philosophy by Research Work - Multilingual Education) 28 cm..

Place hold on Kalanguya: the people and their language/

Azolla (azolla pinnata) meal inclusion in the concentrate ration of goats (capra hircus)./
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Apostol Jr., Arsenio M. .
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2014 .
xxv, 90 leaves : , This study was conducted to determine the nutritive potentials of different levels of azolla meal inclusion in the concentrate ration of goats. Specifically, it aimed to: a) determine the nutrient composition of azolla meal b) determine an evaluate the effects of azolla meal goat diets in terms of gain in body weight, feed consumption, feed conversion efficiency and protein efficiency ratio and c) assess the economy of azolla meal as inclusion in the concentrate ratio of goat in terms of returns above cost of azolla meal. Five dietary treatments were used in the feeding trial. Four levels of azolla meal (15, 20, 25 and 30%) served as components of Diets II, III, IV and V while Diet 1 was the control treatment. The dietary treatments wrer arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), replicated thrice with three heads per replication. Dry water recovery of azolla was 5.42%. Complete proximate analysis revealed that azolla mela continued 10.6% crude protein, 90.0% fat, 23.70% fiber, 19.60% moisture, 0.50% ash, and 44.70%NFE. Energy determination revealed GE content of 2904 cal/g, while mineral analysis revealed 1.6% Ca and 0.3% P contents. Similar initial weights of experimental goats (ranged from 18.00 to 18.67 kg) were noted indicating homogeneity which is a requirement for CRD experiment. The experimental goats were selected from considerable number of stocks base on their weight and age before these were randomly distributed to their respective treatment groups and replications. Highly significant differences on the final weights were observed. Final and average weights ranged from 22.50 to 27.67 kilogram and 3.83 to 9.00 kilogram respectively. No significant variations were noted on the average monthly forage consumption during the feeding trial showing similar performance in this parameter. However, concentrate and azolla meal consumption of the experimental animals showed highly significant differences. Goats fed Diet V (30% AM) consumed the least concentrate feed but have eaten higher amounts of AM. Highly significant difference on the FCR was noted. Goats given Diet V (30%AM) diets performed better in terms of FCR than those in control other azolla meal-treated diets. Protein efficiency ratio of the experimental animals ranged from 1.65 to 2.81. Highly significant difference on the PER was observed among the experimental animals given the dietary treatments. Goats fed Diet V (30% AM) converted protein more efficiently than those in other treatment groups. Return above AM cost of goats increases with the increasing percent inclusion rate of azolla meal in the diets. Final weight ranged from 22.50 to 27.67 kg. The average final gain in weight ranged from 3.83 to 9.00 kilogram. Highly significant differences on the gain in weight of goats in the different dietary treatments were observed. Experimental animals fed with 0% azolla meal gave the lowest return above azolla meal cost. Experimental animals given the 30%azolla meal (Treatment V) incurred the highest return above azolla meal cost which translated to better returns when compared to goats fed with the other treatment diets. With all these findings and information, it could be deduced azolla meal could be safely incorporated in the diets of goats as high as 30 percent. | Thesis (Master of Science - Animal Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on Azolla (azolla pinnata) meal inclusion in the concentrate ration of goats (capra hircus)./

Performance in teacher’s english proficiency test (tept) and national achievements test (nat) performance in english of grade iii pupils in northern districts of Nueva Vizcaya/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Lilagan, Luvella U. .
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2014 .
xii, 75 leaves : , This study aimed to determine the relationship between the teachers' performance in English Proficiency Test and National Achievement Test performance of Grade III pupils in English of the nine Northern Districts in the Division of Nueva Vizcaya. The descriptive-inferential method of research was employed. The data were analyzed using the descriptive and inferential statistics through the correlation procedures. The subjects of study were the ninety-nine (99) Grade three teachers who took the Teachers' English Proficiency Test (TEPT) on April 28, 2013. The data gathered used questionnaire on the teacher-respondents profile and records of the result of TEPT and National Achievement Test (NAT) III in English from the records of the Department of Education, Division of Nueva Vizcaya. Frequency, percentage distribution and standard deviation were utilized for profiling the teacher-respondents. For the level of performance of teachers in the TEPT and NAT performance in English of Grade III pupils, the mean percentage score and standard deviation was used. In determining whether there is a significant difference between the NAT performance in English of Grade III pupils and the teachers' performance in TEPT when teachers are grouped according to the level of TEPT, the test of difference (t-test/F-test) was used. Test of significant relationship employed the Pearson-Moment Correlation Coefficient and the coefficient of multiple determinations and multiple regressions were used to compute the predictors. The test on the significance is set at 0.05. The following conclusions were drawn: As to the Profile of the Grade III Teachers of the Northern District of Nueva Vizcaya - Majority of the respondents were within the middle age, are dominated by females, and less than majority of the respondents' parents are college graduate. For the Academic Related Profile of the Grade III Teachers More than majority of the teachers teaching grade 3 were enrolled in advanced courses, all are eligible, less than majority of the respondents were Teacher III, less than majority are still new in the service, and more than majority taught the pupils for a period of 1-5 years and a very low percentage of them attended regional level seminars. The Level of Performance of Teachers in the TEPT is moderate. The Level of Performance of Grade III Pupils in NAT English is average. Generally, the NAT performance level of the pupils of the respondents is within average as indicated by the overall average MPS of 62.04. The performance of grade III pupils in NAT English is not associated with the teachers' performance in English Proficiency Test. The teachers' performance in TEPT is associated to the variables age, performance rating and years in service. The pupils' performance in NAT English is not influenced by the teachers' performance in English Proficiency Test. Further, it used the descriptive-inferential method in determining the relationship between the profile of recipients of project EASE and their extent of benefits derived and problems encountered in the program. This study was conducted during school year 2015-2016 in Solano High School using 51 randomly selected recipients of project EASE who served as respondents. A validated researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather pertinent data that substantiated the theme of this research. Frequencies and percentages were used in treating the data on profile of school and recipients of project EASE and mean and standard deviation to describe both extent of benefits derived and problems encountered by the recipients of the program. Simple correlation analyses were used to test the relationship between variables while categorical regression analysis was utilized in determining the profile variables that are significantly influential to benefits derived and problems encountered by the recipients of project EASE Solano High School's enrolment increased for school year 2013-2014 to school year 2014-2015 for both regular students and those who are under project EASE. Also, there is a decrease in dropout rate among regular students and decrease in the number of students enrolled in Project EASE who were able to complete Grade Ten. Most of the recipients of the project EASE belong to the typical age of secondary students, grade eight, male and with two siblings. Also, most of the recipients' parents’ monthly income range from 6,000-10,000 pesos. Mothers of the recipients have higher educational attainment than their fathers. Further, most of the recipients' parents are living together and approve their child's enrolment to Project EASE. The level of academic performance of the recipients of Project EASE for the School Years 2013-2014 in Filipino, English and Mathematics which was "Approaching Proficiency" turned to "Developing" in the school year 2014-2015. In addition, the recipients greatly benefitted from the Project EASE socially, educationally, and personally/financially. Also, it was found out that the recipients greatly encountered personal, mental and educational problems while enrolled to Project EASE and they moderately encountered social problems. Project EASE recipients whose mothers have higher educational attainment derived higher extent of personal/financial benefits from Project EASE while sex is found to be a strong predictor of the great extent of benefits derived by the recipients of Project EASE but the profile variables of the recipients did not correlate with the problems they encountered while enrolled in the program. And none among the profile variables is a predictor of the extent of problems encountered by the recipients of Project EASE. | Thesis (Master of Education - Language, Reading and Numeracy). photos ;.

Place hold on Academic performance, benefits derived and problems encountered by recipients of project e. a. s. e. The PET was manually cut into sizes smaller than 20 x 20 mm but greater than 10 x 10 mm, while the coconut shells cracked using a hammer into sizes passing sieve size of 25.4 mm. This study was narrowed to 50% replacement of conventional coarse aggregate with varying percentages of coconut shells and PET from 0%, 10%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%, to 50%, leading to four (4) different mixes labeled a, A, B, and C respectively. A slump test was carried out on the fresh concrete mix to ensure its workability while density, compressive strength, and water absorption tests were carried out on the various samples with different percentage replacements of coconut shells and PET. The workability of concrete with CCS and PET ranges from 60-90 mm, observing that the inclusion of CCS and PET in concrete does not significantly improve or reduce the workability of concrete. Furthermore, with the density ranging from 2,400 to 2,800 kg/m³, all samples can be used as normal-weight concrete. Then, a mix percentage of 50% gravel, 40% crushed coconut shells, and 10% PET (sample C) gave a compressive strength value of 6.01 MPa with an observation that the increase in the proportion of replacement of CCS and decrease in the proportion of PET escalates the compressive strength of concrete. Sample C also obtained a water absorption capacity of 6.52, indicating a more desirable durability characteristic. It was concluded that sample C, in terms of workability, durability, and effectiveness, suitable for general is construction purposes although its compressive strength did not meet the standard of M15 (1:2:4) to reach 15 MPa. It can be used for plain cement concrete work such as leveling courses, bedding for footing, strip footing, and other minor concrete works in general. The site was characterized using Global Positioning System (GPS) which was processed using Geographic Information System (GIS) to generate maps. The study made use of structured questionnaire to gather the socio-demographic profile, irrigation and cropping practices and assess the socioeconomic impact of SWIP to the farmer-beneficiaries. It utilized climatic data taken from the Automatic Weather Station of Quirino State University, Diffun, Quirino as input to the CROPWAT model together with the cropping calendar, cropping intensity, yield and income of the farmer-beneficiaries to analyze the water productivity of the system. Most of the farmer-beneficiaries of Burgos SWIP are males, aged 40-59 years old, married with below four household members, Roman Catholic, high school graduates and some are members of cooperatives. They are rice farmers, have attended 1-2 trainings related to farming and own a 1.00 to 1.99 hectares farm. They are growing inbred rice varieties through transplanting from June to October for the first cropping and November to March for the second cropping, spray their rice farms at the early stage of disease/pest occurrence, use paddy to paddy method of water distribution and allow standing water to a depth of 2-3 cm, use commercial inorganic fertilizers practicing side and top dressing, weed once per copping manually, land prepares twice through harrowing and usually receive enough water in most of the stages of their rice plants after the SWIP. The SWIP has a positive impact as confirmed by the increase in yield and in net income of the farmer-beneficiaries. It contributed a significant increase of 2.14 tons/year in the mean yield generating an additional income of PhP32,113.64. The computed output per unit irrigated area and output per unit command area of Burgos SWIP of PhP41,004.06/ha and PhP22,622.48/ha is lower than most of the irrigation systems in the region. This may be attributed to the absence of lateral canals to convey water within the service area. The output per unit water consumed by evapotranspiration is PhP2.48/m³ while the output per unit irrigation supply is PhP4.65/m³ which indicates that there is a PhP2.17 loss in production per cubic meter of water loss due to evaporation, seepage and percolation. | Thesis (Master of Science - Agricultural Engineering) 28 cm..

Place hold on Performance evaluation and impact assessment of burgos small water impounding project (swip) in Cabarroguis, Quirino/

Level of awareness, acceptability and relevance of the vision, mission goals, and objectives of the NVSU and the objectives of its geodetic engineering stakeholders/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Batanes, Rochille M..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2024 .
xii, 76 leaves : , This study focused on determining the level of awareness, acceptability and relevance of the vision, mission, goals and objectives of NVSU and the Objective of its Geodetic Engineering students and other stakeholders. The research utilized a descriptive research design for the survey method. The survey respondents were the NVSU Geodetic Engineering stakeholders consisting of faculty members, students, parents and alumni. Mean and standard deviation were utilized to interpret the data of stakeholders. Results showed that the stakeholders, in general, are highly aware of the University's vision, mission, goals, and objectives and objectives of its Geodetic Engineering College. The faculty and alumni were very highly aware of the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGOs), while the parents were least aware. In terms of acceptance of the stakeholders in the VMGO, all stakeholders had very high acceptance of the University's vision, mission, goals, and objectives. In establishing the awareness, acceptability and relevance of the VMG0, most stakeholders have agreed on the proposed actions. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the VMGO of the University is well formulated but not fully understood and not well disseminated based on the high level of acceptance but a moderate level of awareness among stakeholders, Thus. it is recommended that the University constantly works for a more comprehensive effort in disseminating the VMGO through the use of many forms of communication medium. | Research paper (Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering) 28 cm..

Place hold on Level of awareness, acceptability and relevance of the vision, mission goals, and objectives of the NVSU and the objectives of its geodetic engineering stakeholders/

Efficacy of different levels of vermipellets on the growth of malakauayan (podocarpus rumphii blume.)/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Laguardia, Lorena P..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
xvi, 87 leaves : , The study determined the effects of the different levels of vermipellets on the growth of Malakauayan (Podocarpus rumphii Blume.). Five parameters were used to assess the response of Malakauayan on the different levels of vermipellets added in the potting media such as percent survival, height, diameter, number of leaves and ovendry plant biomass. The study also determined which level of vermipellet would give the best growth of potted Malakauayan (Podocarpus rumphii Blume.). The study was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five (5) treatments and four (4) replications per treatment. Each treatment had sixteen (16) plants, which had a total of eighty (80) plants. The different treatments were ordinary soil (T1), 2 g of vermipellet, 1 kg of soil (T2), 4g of vermipellet, 1kg soil (T3), 6 g of vermipellet, 1 kg soil (T4), 8 g of vermipellet, 1 kg of soil (T5). The parameters measured in the study were subjective to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine the effects of different levels of vermipellet on the growth performance of Malakauayan (Podocarpus rumphii Blume.); the Duncan's MultipleRange Test (DMRT) was used to test the significant differences among the treatment means. Generally, the different levels of vermipellets had no significant effect on the growth of Malakauayan (Podocarpus rumphii Blume) in terms of percent survival, height, diameter, number of leaves and plant biomass. The height of Malakauayan (Podocarpus rumphii Blume.) was improved when added with vermipellet at any levels; however, the highest improvement was attained when grown in Treatment 2 which is 11.71 cm. The number of leaves of Malakauayan (Podocarpus rumphii Blume) was also improved as a result of treatment. Treatment 2 had highest number of leaves, followed by Treatment I and Treatment 4 had the lowest number of leaves. Though the result of the study was insignificant, it had been observed that Treatment 2 (2 g of vermipellet, 1kg soil) yielded highest height, largest in diameter and high number of leaves. The study described the organ shape, color and as well the texture of the internal organs The tubular shape was noted in esophagus, crop, proventriculus and intestines. The irregular shape was mamly seen in the gizzard and lungs. The kidney and pancreas were commonly elongated shaped. The heart is triangularly shaped. The testes were bean-shaped, and infundibulum is funnel shaped. These qualitative characteristics are generally normal with other poultry breeds. Meanwhile, various color patterns were observed in the serosa and mucosa of different organs, ranging from shades of pink, cream, and brownish hues to white, yellow, orange, and greenish hues. Furthermore, most of the organs exhibit smooth or muscular textures, with a few exceptions, like the rough textures of the cloaca/vent and trachea, as well a few samples of the duodenum and jejunum. The colors of the visceral fats include yellow and pale yellow and cream. These colors vary according to their diet that contains carotene. Moreover, the organ weight, length, width, and luminal diameter were quantitively measured and expressed in grams for weight and in millimeters for length, width and luminal diameter. The male chickens generally exhibit larger organ sizes and heavier weights compared to the females. This was observed in organs such as the esophagus, crop, proventriculus, gizzard, intestines, trachea, lungs, and as well the heart. Like any other municipality, Bayombong was composed of different Indigenous people groups that were hoping to have their own ancestral domain ownership. Thus, this study was conducted to determine the ancestral domain ownership in the municipality of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya that focused on the total area covered, number of beneficiaries, and the process and procedures in acquiring ownership. Ownership of ancestral domain is a part of life of every indigenous people. It became their necessity and one of the essential things in their lives that must be protected. In the result presented in this, it shows that in the municipality of Bayombong, the Ayangan tribe were the first Indigenous people group that acquired ancestral domain ownership through the application of CADT that was approved on February 02,2007. The total area was 1584.09 hectares that covered by four barangays of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya namely, Cabuaan, Casat, Ipil- Cuneg and Masoc. As years pass by, the Ayangan ancestral domain was inherited by the beneficiaries from their ancestors. Moreover, knowing the Ayangan ancestral ownership serve as an eye opener to the government offices that was assigned for the protection and monitoring of the ancestral domain and Indigenous People different issues. Moreover, it determined the variables that predict the extent of their executive functioning and management effectiveness. This research employed the descriptive-inferential method. Stratified proportionate random sampling was used to determine the samples of the study. A standardized test, the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function Adult version (BRIEF A) was utilized to assess the executive functioning of the academic middle-level administrators, while a two-part questionnaire was used to determine the administrators' demographics and their level of managerial effectiveness. The analysis was done using mean, t-score, Pearson r and regression. The better the ability of the university's academic middle-level administrators to execute their management skills, the more that they tend to be in the borderline in their executive functioning in terms of their emotional control. Further, as they exceptionally perform their management skills, the more that they tend to be normal in their executive functioning in terms of inhibition, shift, self-monitoring, initiation, planning/organization and task monitoring. As the management skills of the deans and department chairs reaches the exemplary level, the more that they inhibit themselves from acting on impulse and be able to adjust given the circumstances. On the other hand, when the academic middle-level administrators' executive functioning in terms of shift, self-monitoring, initiation, planning/organization and task monitoring becomes normal, one is guaranteed better performances on communication skills, adaptability, interpersonal relations, and initiative and creativity of the middle managers. And as they tend to reach the borderline in their working memory, emotional control, inhibition and organization of materials, there is a greater chance of achieving better interpersonal relations, decision-making and judgment, and initiative and creativity. Age, sex, marital status, highest educational attainment, length of service, present designation, and number of years in present designation are strong predictors of executive functioning of academic middle-level administrators. The growth performance was observed using the following parameters: height and diameter increments, crown diameter and number of leaves. The statistical analysis indicated that there were significant differences in height and diameter increments. Direct influences of fertilizer on crown expansion and leaf production are unclear. In light of agroforestry system influences, the inherent biophysical factors in the agroforestry site may have contributed to the performance of the rubber saplings. However, the condition of the study area is still at its incipient stages and so the effect of vegetation, soil changes and microclimate are yet to be quantified better. In all, the results of the study reflect those fertilizers are essential input to growing rubber trees in once-degraded areas. Accurate landslide susceptibility mapping is crucial for effective risk management and mitigation strategies. This study aimed to generate an enhanced landslide susceptibility map for the municipality of Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, using Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The study examined the relationship between landslide occurrence and various causative factors, including slope, elevation, soil type, land cover, distance from roads and rivers, and rainfall. The primary five contributing factors were identified, and their relative weights were determined using the AHP. The enhanced landslide susceptibility map was then generated by integrating these factors. The results revealed that slope (35%) and rainfall (23.56%) were the most influential factors, followed by soil type (15.38%), land cover (9.75%), and elevation (7.21%). The enhanced map classified the study area into four susceptibility classes: very low, low, moderate, and high. Approximately 7,330.41 hectares were identified as highly susceptible, 8,469.94 hectares as moderately susceptible, 5,847.56 hectares as low susceptible, and 2,171.32 hectares as very low susceptible to landslides. Compared to the existing 2019 susceptibility map, the enhanced version showed a significant difference in the distribution of susceptibility classes, highlighting its improved accuracy and reliability. 28 cm..

Place hold on Landslide susceptibility mapping in Sta. It also aimed to determine the effect of fruit juices (calamansi, pineapple and dalandan) on broccoli-fruit juice blends with very desirable sensory quality in terms of appearance/color, taste, aroma and general acceptability. A semi-trained laboratory panel of nine members evaluated the products using 9-point Hedonic Scale. The analysis of variance was used to determine if there were significant differences on the sensory quality of the finished product. The pH of broccoli (6.6) shows that it is a non- acid food. Of the three fruits used as acidulant, calamansi was the sourest (2.4), followed by dalandan (2.9), and pineapple (3.1). In terms of soluble solid, the pineapple juice registered the highest reading (9°Bx) followed by calamansi (5°Bx). The amount of fruit juices needed to adjust the pH of the broccoli extract to 3.5 were 55ml of calamansi juice, 450ml of pineapple juice, and 295ml of dalandan juice. The use of pineapple juice as acidulant enhanced the taste and appearance/color as well as the general acceptability of broccoli-based juice blend. The mean rating which ranged from 7.56-8.00 has a descriptive equivalent of "Like Very Much" compared to the control which ranged from 6.22-6.56 which has a descriptive equivalent of "Like Slightly". Its land cover is predominantly dipterocarp and karst forests interspersed by citrus orchards and patches of farms. AGB densities were estimated using regression models whose independent variables consist of Landsat 8 bands, vegetation indices and band ratios, and topographic data derived from digital elevation model. Two Landsat 8 data were used because of cloud contamination; hence, two sets of models were derived. The best two models, based on RMSE, have either Band 1 and Band 6 or Band 1 and Band 3 as predictors. None of the topographic variables came out as predictor. The landscape contains around 285,140 tons of aboveground biomass translating to 200 ton/ha. The bulk of this total AGB is found in dipterocarp forest. The large proportion of low-biomass land uses and land cover types such as citrus orchard, cultivated area, betel pepper gardens, and grassland, pulled down the average AGB relative to that of the dipterocarp and limestone or karst forests. Tree crown closure is significantly correlated to most of the Landsat 8 bands, vegetation indices and band ratios, implying that Landsat 8 can be used to estimate the tree crown closure of varying land cover types. On the other hand, percent ground cover is significantly correlated to a smaller number of spectral variables. Except for elevation, AGB estimate seems to be independent of GIS ancillary data, namely, slope, aspect and hill shade. The discrepancy between the projected and actual value increases as elevation increases. The opportunity to model the local context of rainfall in Bayombong is presented by the Weather Monitoring System (WMS) of NVSU. The study looked into modeling the periodic component of the monthly precipitation time series of Bayombong from the WMS rainfall data from 2012 to 2015. Fourier series harmonic analysis was employed through backward elimination stepwise Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) with the method of least squares in mathematical modeling. The four models obtained explained 90 percent variation in the observed data. The model with the first and second harmonics and the cosine term of the fifth harmonics is the best fit model and is parsimonious accounting for the 12-, 6- and 2.4-months periods in the observed data. The best fit model has the highest adjusted coefficient of determination (R) of 0.9043, the least root means square error (RMSE) or magnitude of error of 55.99 mm and the least Akaike information (AIC) of 530.23. The model captured the long term periodic monthly rainfall of Bayombong described as Type III in Corona's climate classification which is relatively dry from November to April and wet the rest of the year. The model revealed that periodic rainfall peaks in July and August and is least in January. Periodic rainfall considerably increases in May and considerably decreases in November. Hence, the model can aid the WMS in providing local farmers practical knowledge about climatic rainfall conditions conducive to farming and can also be used in modeling the rainfall of Bayombong at different time scales. Despite all animals being dewormed, a high level of infection was observed in the samples collected with 112 samples (71.34%) showing infection with at least one type of nematode, 44 samples (28.03%) were infected with two types of nematodes, and 1 sample (0.63%) was found positive with three types of nematodes. The overall prevalence for Haemonchus sp. Trichostrongylus sp., and Trichuris sp. were 39.45%, 35 16%, and 5.08% respectively. Evaluation of reproductive indices showed that during first service (n=72), fertility (59.72%) and conception rates (95.35%) were within standards. However, calving to first service interval (CFSI) (n=116) was extended with 38.79% of cows taking more than 70 days to return to heat. Calving to conception interval (CCI) (n=116) was extended with 40.52% taking >110 days to get pregnant. Calving interval (CT) (n=146) was extended with 34.25% of cows having >500 days interval. Infection with Trichuris sp. was correlated with extended CFSI (-0.176, p = 0.029, CCI (r = 0.208, p = 0.01) and CI (-0.183, p - 0.023) while Haemonchus sp. infection was correlated with extended Cl (r = 0.246 p < 0.002) Improvement in health management is highly recommended to reduce or prevent nematode infection in dairy cattle. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Study on the correlation of the prevalence of nematode parasites and reproductive indices of dairy cattle (bos taurus) in Cagayan, Valley, Philippines/

Landslide susceptibility mapping in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya using GIS: an enchancement/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Avecilla, Clark Chester T..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2024 .
x, 105 leaves : , Creating a landslide susceptibility map is imperative for effectively managing the landslide hazard, reducing property damage and loss of life. Like many other mountainous places, the municipality of Quezon has also experienced landslides, resulting in fatalities, injuries, and property destruction. Hence, this study was conducted to generate an enhanced landslide susceptibility map using a GIS-based spatial multicriteria approach. Seven causative factors, including slope, rainfall, soil type, land cover, elevation, distance from the road, and distance from the river, were selected for the present assessment. An enhanced landslide susceptibility map was generated by integrating AHP and GIS techniques and was categorized into four susceptibility classes: very low, low, moderate, and high. The result presented in the study illustrates that there was a disparity between the two maps. The enhanced map shows a more detailed representation of truly vulnerable areas. Specifically, 3589.64 hectares are identified as very low susceptible, 5690.36 hectares are low susceptible, while 5993.09 hectares and 5792.80 hectares are categorized as moderately and highly susceptible to landslides. The results presented in the study indicate that Barangay Maasin, Runruno, and Calaocan, and some parts of Maddiangat, Baresbes, Buliwao, and Darubba, are identified as at high-risk areas. On the other hand, Barangay Dagupan and Bonifacio are at moderate risk, while Barangay Nalubbunan, Caliat, and Aurora are at low risk. Furthermore, the validation conducted by geotagging and field survey yields positive results, indicating that the validated points aligned on the enhanced LSM. The enhanced LSM serves as a valuable tool for disaster preparedness and enables local agencies to implement targeted measures to mitigate landslide risks, especially in high-risk places. | Research paper (Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering) 28 cm..

Place hold on Landslide susceptibility mapping in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya using GIS: an enchancement/

Holistic human development through kagawad kalinga: the Nueva Vizcaya experience
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Bacani, Jane B..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
xv,123 leaves : , This study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the Gawad Kalinga (GK) program implemented in the province of Nueva Vizcaya. The study was undertaken in six (6) GK sites in the province of Nueva Vizcaya situated at Malasin and Macabenga in Dupax del Norte, Aliaga in Bambang, Banganan in Aritao, Bascaran in Solano and Namamparan in Diadi. A total of 131 respondents were randomly chosen from the study sites. The study was conducted from September to December 2015. A questionnaire was developed and administered to the beneficiaries, community leaders and caretaker team of the GK in Nueva Vizcaya. The data were gathered through an interview schedule, key informants and from secondary sources. The data were analyzed using descriptive inferential statistics. The 0.05 probability level was the critical point of reference for the analysis of data. Results were presented in the narrative reportorial method and portrayed in tabular forms. The respondents have an average age of 42.83 years, predominated by the Ilocanos, mostly married, with an average of three (3) dependents, mostly elementary to high school graduates, predominantly Roman Catholics, engaged in manual labor such as farming, construction workers and drivers, with an average monthly income of P3,265.65, and residing in the GK for an average of 7.47years.The extent of services rendered by various institutions/agencies is high, the performance of personnel assigned to GK sites is high; and suitability of the mechanics of GK implementation was rated as moderately low, The performance of the GK Program in terms of social development was moderately low, community development was measured as moderately low, while infrastructure development is rated as high. The overall performance of the GK is high. The foremost problems experienced by the beneficiaries include the source of potable water for the use of the beneficiaries, the concreting of the farm to market road, and additional septic tanks. Other problems with less severity include sustainability of enterprises/livelihood programs, cultivation of the Bayan-anihan plot for vegetable production, SISTEMA program, health system, health services and facilities, SAGIP values formation activities, SIBOL, pre-school program, and SIGA barkadahan sessions. The performance of GK in Nueva Vizcaya significantly correlated with the number of dependents and years of stay in GK areas. The extent of implementation of the various institutional development support activities inherent to the GK program is directly related to the attainment of the goals and objectives of the GK. The occurrence and severity of the problems affected the performance of the GK in Nueva Vizcaya. With the above findings, it is concluded that beneficiaries of the program who have lesser number of dependents and who have been staying in the GK sites for longer periods have acquired more benefits from Gawad Kalinga program, hence, beneficiaries should be encouraged to practice family planning to have lesser number of their dependents not only for financial reasons but also for better access to health services, education and food sufficiency. Beneficiaries who have been staying fonder in the GK sites should be encouraged to become counselors and mobilizers to motivate newer members in the protection and rehabilitation of the environment, ensuring food sufficiency and in the formation of income generating projects. To attain the goals and objectives of the GK, corresponding institutional development support from agencies and institutions need to be properly implemented as planned to attain the goals of the GK Program in terms of social development, community development and infrastructure development. Unresolved problems in the various components of the GK Program affected the performance of the GK in Nueva Vizcaya. Problem identification through scientific analysis should be done through monitoring and evaluation with the assistance of the implementers to detect potential and persistent problems for its speedy resolutions. | Thesis (Master of Science - Rural Development) 28 cm..

Place hold on Holistic human development through kagawad kalinga: the Nueva Vizcaya experience

Factors associated to fresh graduates' employability in the tourist attractions in Nueva Vizcaya/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Bonina, Kristine Dimple.
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2022 .
xv, 40 leaves : , The primary goal of this research is to discover the factors that influence recent graduates' employment. And activities that can enhance students' confidence in doing mathematical activities must be conducted to the students. | Thesis (Master in Education - Language, Reading and Numeracy). 28 cm..

Place hold on Perceived anxiety in mathematics and in relationship to mathematical cognitive skills of grade VI pupils in Lamut District, Ifugao/

The competency level of agricultural service provides and yield of irrigate hybrid rice in Nueva Vizcaya/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Bahatan, Jemarie C. .
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
xvi, 154 leaves : , This study was conducted to assess the competency levels of agricultural service providers of hybrid rice production in Nueva Vizcaya. The study was undertaken in three (3) municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya namely: Dupax del Norte, Bayombong and Quezon where there is use and production of hybrid rice. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires administered to 148 respondents composed of 71 agricultural service providers in high yielding. 41 in medium yielding, and 36 in low yielding hybrid rice producing municipalities. This was further enhanced by key informants' interviews. The study was conducted from December 2015 to January 2016. The study used descriptive-inferential method of research. The 0.05 probability level of significance was the critical point reference for the analysis of data results, which were presented in the narrative reportorial method and portrayed in tabular forms. The respondents were mostly 45 years old, mostly males and married, with other sources of income from combination of agriculture-related projects, farm labor, construction, and others. They have low educational attainment ranging from elementary to high school undergraduates and they belong to families with 2-7 household members. Mostly were landless but seasoned farmers with 31 years of experience in farming, who were either tenants, and were either into groups providing services for the pulling of seedlings, or transplanting and harvesting. Respondents were mostly paid per bundle or per day in pulling seedling, by contract for transplanting and harvesting and mostly paid in advance by the land owners. They considered their hiring rate from high to very high in pulling of seedlings, low to moderate for transplanting, and high in harvesting: commonly working for farmers with exceptional behavior, in a very good and safe farm location. And only some of respondents have attended trainings related to agriculture and rice, and very few are members to agricultural related organizations or availed agricultural support programs, but some have hospitalization benefits. Result of the study indicated that the overall competency of agricultural service providers in cultural production of hybrid rice is high. This result is credited with the very good leadership capability of team leaders fondly called as "kabesilya". It indicates further that the higher the capability of team leader, the higher would be the competency of agricultural service providers. Therefore, it is encouraged that team leaders may participate in rice production trainings to further enhance their technical capabilities. Furthermore, agricultural service providers who have other sources of income from combinations of agriculture-related projects, construction, farm labor and others, working on safe environment and on locations with higher yield on hybrid rice but with service providers who command lower hiring or payment rate on pulling of seedlings and have poorer farm location have higher competency on cultural production of hybrid rice. For this, concerned agencies in the province and in municipalities like agriculture offices, training institutions and academe may continue and intensify implementation of livelihood projects and AEWs to equip agricultural service providers in the province to provide more training on agriculture-related and non-related enterprises most especially to service providers who are lesser competent to augment their income during lean-months when work in farm is scarce. The competency of agricultural service providers in hybrid rice production in Nueva Vizcaya is regarded as high and significantly differed on high, medium and low yielding areas. As competency levels of service providers in seeds and seed preparation, seedbed preparation, care and management of seedlings, crop establishment, and crop management improves, yield increases. Agricultural service providers in lower yielding areas may immerse on areas considered as high yielding to improve their skills on previously mentioned cultural practices of hybrid rice production. | Thesis (Master of Science-Rural Development) 28 cm..

Place hold on The competency level of agricultural service provides and yield of irrigate hybrid rice in Nueva Vizcaya/

Training and development practices and the work behaviors of employees in selected private higher educational institutions in Nueva Vizcaya/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Del Mundo Jr., Fernando C..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
xiii, 107 leaves : , Human resource training and development is one way of sharing necessary knowledge and skills to human resource professionals in the organization. This is necessary for a number of reasons why HR professionals are very important in the organization. They need continuous upgrade of their skills and attitudes, necessarily training them to bring them at par with the organization's goals and in tune with the industry trends for well-equipped HR professionals are the means to ensuring optimal performance from the organization's employees (Stuart, 2013). In order to attain quality competent-performance, it is imperative that the members of the human force be highly competent and be at par with the standards of professionalism It was in this context that this study was conceptualized, by embracing the training and development as an integral part of the human resource management among selected private higher educational institutions in Nueva Vizcaya, and how these practices influence the work behaviors of both non-teaching and teaching staff. This study is anchored on determining the relationship of the training and development practices and work behaviors of employees in selected private higher educational institutions in Nueva Vizcaya. The descriptive correlational method was used to determine the relationship of profile variables to training and development practices and work behavior In view of the data gathered, the following major findings and conclusions are drawn 1) Age and gender had a significant positive influence on the determination of an employee to succeed, 2) Highest educational attainment had a significant positive influence on accommodating change, 3) Gender had a bearing on the cooperation in overcoming a problem and willingness to accept responsibility among employees, 4) Source of funding of training and development had a significant positive influence to show enthusiasm, determined to succeed, wanting to accept responsibility and motivation to work. Training and development practices which include orientation, coaching, short term trainings and team building had significant positive influence on the work behavior of respondents. On the other hand, delegation and mentoring had no significant influence to the work behaviors of the respondents. Based on the forgoing findings and conclusions, the following were recommended)) The Commission on Higher Education may formulate policies and procedures to monitor Private Higher Educational Institutions regarding their training and development practices 2) School administrator, and human resource officer may conduct orientation, coaching, short term trainings and team building for school personnel's since these practices greatly influence the work behaviors of employees and 3) Future researchers may conduct related researches in other private HEI's to validate the results and determine other possible demographic attributes which were not included as predictors of the training and development practices and the work behaviors of employees in private higher educational institutions. | Thesis (Master of Arts in Public Administration - Local Government Administration) 28 cm..

Place hold on Training and development practices and the work behaviors of employees in selected private higher educational institutions in Nueva Vizcaya/

Determinants of the level of academic performance in science 9/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Latigay, Ruchi Briam James S..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2016 .
xiii, 86 leaves : , This study determined the relationship between academic performance in science 9 and the different factor variables such as demographic profiles, science attitude and mental ability. This study was conducted among the 16 secondary Science 9 teachers and 289 Grade 9 student of the nine secondary schools of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The researcher made use of combination of the descriptive-correlational and linear regression model. The descriptive part assessed the profile of the teachers and students' respondents and the levels of the student's attitudes towards science and mental ability. The correlational part determined the relationship of the profile variables (teachers and students) to the academic performance of the students. Lastly, the linear regression model has been taken to find out the relation between the performances of the students with 7 independent variables. Descriptive-survey type of research was used involving data collection through questionnaires, testing as well as document scanning. Data analysis used frequency count and percentage distribution, mean and standard deviations. To test the relationship among variables, correlation was used while multiple regressions determined the significant predictors or variables. Hypotheses were tested at 0.01 and 0.05 levels of significance. Results showed that the level of the mental ability and scientific attitude of the student respondents were average and along the five scientific attitudes, critical mindedness turned to be the highest and objectivity being the lowest. Most of the student respondents are 'Proficient in their academic performance in Science 9 for the first three quarter of the school year 2014-2015. The academic performance of the students is not directly influenced by the teacher’s profile. Females are performing better and students whose parents are educated are performing better than those whose parents are not educated. Students whose mental ability are high are performing better than those who have low mental ability. The multiple regressions showed that critical mindedness was identified as the best predictor of academic performance. | Thesis (Master of Education in Science Education - General Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on Determinants of the level of academic performance in science 9/
