The eighteen female rabbits were treated for 15 days and were allowed to be mated to male rabbits with proven fertility After fourteen days post coitum, the rabbits were examined if they conceived or not. Female rabbits under treatment 3 were again mated to the same male rabbits 5 and 10 days after discontinuation of the treatment. They were assessed again after 14 days post coitum. Results showed that Andrographis paniculata aqueous leaf extract exhibited antifertility effect comparable with Ethinyl estradiol plus Cyproterone acetate. All the female rabbits in both treatment 1 (Ethinyl estradiol plus Cyproterone acetate) and 3 (1000 mg/kg Andrographis paniculata aqueous leaf extract) did not conceived. For the duration of antifertility effect of Andrographis paniculata aqueous leaf extract in female rabbits, it was totally reversed 10 days after the discontinuation of the treatment wherein all the three rabbits conceived after pairing off. On the other hand, I out of 3 female rabbits only got pregnant when mated 5 days after the discontinuation of the treatment. It was concluded that Andrographis paniculata aqueous leaf extract can be used as alternative and cheaper way for animal population control. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Antifertility effect of green chiretta (andrographis paniculata) aqueous leaf extract in rabbits (oryctolagus cuniculus/

Effect of microbially fermented spent mushroom substrate by. T-200 grams concentrates+ 100% napier grass, T- 200 grams concentrates + 10% EM-SMS mixture 90% napier grass, T. 200 grams concentrates +10% SMS molasses mixture 90% napier grass, T-200 grams concentrates+ 10% molasses+90% napier Grass. Each block had (5) five treatments containing one (1) experimental unit. Result showed the mean weights of all treatment groups showed increase in the weights which were expected since the animals were given rations for maintenance and growth. Average daily gain shows that animals given with combination diets of grass, feed concentrates, EM-SMS, and molasses had comparable average weight in gain with animals fed with grass, feed concentrates, and molasses During the 10th day, no significant differences among treatments were observed However, at days 17 to 45, highly significant differences among treatments were observed which means that different diet regimens have significantly affected the gain in weight of the different treatment groups. Protein efficiency ration it shows that treatment 4 has the highest protein consumed. Consequently, this treatment has the highest crude protein content the improves substantially the nutritive value of these feeds resulting to the highest of the animal weight gain compared to other treatments. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Effect of microbially fermented spent mushroom substrate by.
