Despite all animals being dewormed, a high level of infection was observed in the samples collected with 112 samples (71.34%) showing infection with at least one type of nematode, 44 samples (28.03%) were infected with two types of nematodes, and 1 sample (0.63%) was found positive with three types of nematodes. The overall prevalence for Haemonchus sp. Trichostrongylus sp., and Trichuris sp. were 39.45%, 35 16%, and 5.08% respectively. Evaluation of reproductive indices showed that during first service (n=72), fertility (59.72%) and conception rates (95.35%) were within standards. However, calving to first service interval (CFSI) (n=116) was extended with 38.79% of cows taking more than 70 days to return to heat. Calving to conception interval (CCI) (n=116) was extended with 40.52% taking >110 days to get pregnant. Calving interval (CT) (n=146) was extended with 34.25% of cows having >500 days interval. Infection with Trichuris sp. was correlated with extended CFSI (-0.176, p = 0.029, CCI (r = 0.208, p = 0.01) and CI (-0.183, p - 0.023) while Haemonchus sp. infection was correlated with extended Cl (r = 0.246 p < 0.002) Improvement in health management is highly recommended to reduce or prevent nematode infection in dairy cattle. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Study on the correlation of the prevalence of nematode parasites and reproductive indices of dairy cattle (bos taurus) in Cagayan, Valley, Philippines/

Management practices and milk production parameters of dairy buffaloes in Cagayan Valley/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Panganiban, Jeam Abby Keith J..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023 .
xiv, 66 leaves: , The study determined the management practices and milk production parameters of dairy buffaloes in Cagayan Valley. The data were gathered primarily through an interview/survey questionnaire. Dairy buffalo owners in the provinces of Cagayan Valley that were interviewed are from Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya. Dairy buffalo farmers (n = 22) were interviewed to identify the management practices of dairy buffaloes. Survey showed that majority of the respondents were backyard dairy buffalo farmers in San Agustin, Isabela. The demographic information of farmers, farm operation profile, breeding system, health management, biosecurity measures, feeding management, housing management, milking management, and individual animal profile were collected and compared with the backyard and commercial dairy buffalo farming. Analysis using Pearson Chi-square test revealed that certain factors are associated with the milking parameters in dairy buffalo. The study showed that the number of litters of milk per day was determined statistically significant (p < 0.05. p < 0.012) with the frequency of water, (p < 0.01 p <0.002) with the type of milking, time of milking was also found significant at the level (p < 0.01, p < 0) to the number of litters of milk per day. Frequency of milking was also determined statistically significant (p < 0.05 p < 0.011) with type of milking, (p < 0.05, with the severity of mastitis. The study was undertaken in four provinces namely: Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela and Cagayan province. Fecal samples were collected from 256 dairy cattle and subjected to sedimentation and Baermann technique for trematode egg and larva identification. Fasciola spp. and Paramphistomum spp eggs were identified through sedimentation whereas no larva was found using the Baermann technique. Fecalysis shows a low prevalence of trematode parasites (14.45%) detected in Cagayan Valley Low milk yield production was also noted in dairy cattle where Isabela province contribute the most. Analysis using SPSS-Pearson correlation revealed that certain variables such as Body Condition Score ( p < 0.012 , r = - 0.157 ), status of the animal ( p < 0.014 , r = - 0.153 ) average litter of milk yield per day ( p < 0 , r=-0.266) and age ( p < 0 , r = - 0.25 ) are negatively correlated with increased infection of Fasciola spp. Negative correlations were found between Paramphistomum spp. and status of the animal ( p < 0.036 r = - 0.131 ) and average litter of milk yield per day ( p < 0.028 , r = - 0.137 ). Flexible learning is a set of educational theories and approaches aimed at giving students more options, comfort, and customization to meet their needs. As a result, the goal of this study was to evaluate the use of flexible learning and the career prospects of Nueva Vizcaya State University Tourist Management graduating students. The purpose of this study was to determine the demographic profile of BSTM graduating students, as well as their perceptions of the effectiveness of flexible learning implementation, career outlooks, and prospective career choices. Additionally, the significant differences between variables were investigated. A descriptive-inferential research design was used in the study. A three-part survey questionnaire was distributed to the 70 BSTM graduating students. The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results revealed that the 70 student respondents are mostly in their early twenties and females. When asked how many devices they used for online studies, nearly four out of ten respondents said they only have their phones. Finally, when it comes to internet access, respondents primarily use mobile data. Furthermore, the overall perception of flexible learning by student respondents is positive. This merely demonstrates that the student-respondents were on the right side of the pandemic. Despite the pandemic's challenges, flexible learning provided a positive learning environment. Overall, the student-respondents have a positive career outlook. First and foremost, they believe that the pandemic will have a negative impact on careers in the hospitality and tourism industries. Prior to and during the pandemic, they had already decided and acted in the same manner in pursuing a career in the tourism sector. They have faith in the academic institution's educational system, which has assisted them in flexible learning, and help them pursue their preferred tourism career. Finally, given their positive career outlook, student respondents are confident that they will be fully prepared for the tourism industry in 2023. In terms of career choices, the student-respondents were given 14 different career options. The student respondents preferred career path would most likely be that of a restaurant steward. It received the most votes from student respondents as their top choice. Their second most desired career path was front office manager. Event planner was the third most popular career choice. It was also found that when students were grouped according to their age, there was a significant difference in their perceptions of the effects of flexible learning in terms of the ability of the students. It was found that older respondents exhibit a more positive effect of flexible learning on their ability compared to their younger counterparts. However, student-respondents have nearly equal career prospects regardless of demographic variable. A total of 96 hog raisers and 7 local program implementers were the respondents of the study. The study was conducted from May-August 2022. A set of questionnaires were developed and administered to the respondents. The data were collected through the key informants and personal interviews of the respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results were presented in narrative method and portrayed in tabular forms. The respondents were mostly married females, between 21 and more than 50 years old. The respondents were mainly from the llocano and Igorot ethnicities and predominated by Roman Catholics. Majority of the respondents have 5-9 household sizes, self-employed, engaged in hog raising for less than 5 years purposely for source of income. The backyard farm is the most common type of production scale with a grower to finisher production system. Most of the respondents are knowledgeable of the causative agent, transmission, and clinical signs of the ASF Similarly, the respondents are highly aware of the stage of production, class of pigs affected, non-zoonotic potential, the need for a confirmatory diagnosis and unavailability of treatment or vaccine for the disease. The respondents are not compliant with the recommended location in between piggeries, provision of signages, wearing of protective clothing and showering upon entering the farm premises, record-keeping and vehicle movement management practices. However, majority of the respondents are compliant with the proper way of disposing of suspected/confirmed carcasses, disease monitoring and surveillance activities, and post-outbreak contingency-related procedures. African Swine Fever still exists in the province amidst the collaborative efforts of concerned government agencies involving policies and ordinances, information, education, and communication campaign strategies, border control, and the detection of African Swine Fever in piggeries and animal holding facilities. This was compounded by the unavailability of vaccines, the reluctance of hog raisers to disclose animal diseases, and the illegal movement of undocumented pigs and by-products. Based on the results, recommendations were provided to improve compliance with Good Animal Husbandry Practices that would help eradicate African Swine Fever in the province. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Knowledge, attitudes, and practices of hog raisers in compliance with the prevention and control program of african swine fever in selected municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya/

Wound healing activity of powderized chicken eggshell and eggshell membrane in albino rats (rattus norvegicus)/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Philmar M. Furthermore, the significant differences in the variables were investigated where descriptive-inferential research design was used in this study. A three-part survey questionnaire was distributed to 368 randomly selected students from the NVSU-Bayombong Campus' eight colleges. The collected data was then analyzed and results revealed that the majority of student respondents are females aged 20 to 22 from the College of Teacher Education, in their first year, and of Ilocano ethnicity. Finally, student respondents spent an average of three to four hours per day on social media platforms. The most popular social media platform for making travel decisions is Facebook. Instagram is ranked second, then followed by TikTok. Social media platforms had a significant influence on the travel decisions of the student respondents where students agreed that social media platforms influenced their travel decisions primarily due to their ease of use. They were, on the contrary, hesitant to gather travel information through social media platforms. They were also undecided about whether to plan their trips using social media content and then follow some of the advice given on social media platforms. When making travel decisions, student respondents from the College of Human Ecology are significantly more likely than those from the College of Agriculture to be influenced by social media platforms. Isabela has the highest number of dairy farms in Cagayan Valley. Majority of the respondents were literate, male and married. All farms practice deworming but only 22.27% apply rotational derworming strategy. The most commonly used dewormer was albendazole (78.57%). Majority of buffaloes sampled has a BCS of 3 (84.70%), were lactating (48.24%) and vaccinated (99.22%). Fecal samples from dairy buffaloes (n=255) were subjected to sedimentation and Baermann larval culture method to identify trematode eggs and larvae. To calculate reproductive indices, productivity records were collected from dairy farmers (n=21) through personal interview. A low level of infection was observed in the samples collected with 27 samples (10.59%) showing infection with at least one type of trematode, 14 samples (5.49%) were infected with Paramphistomum spp., and 13 samples (5.10%) were found positive with Fasciola spp. Evaluation of reproductive indices showed that during first service (n=93), fertility (49.46%) and conception rates (100%) were within standards. However, calving to first service interval (CFSI) (n=187) was extended with 43.31% of cows taking more than 90 days to return to heat. Calving to conception interval (CCI) (n = 187) was extended with 70.58% taking >190 days to get pregnant. Calving interval (CI) (n = 146) was extended with 45.89% of cows having 420-540 days interval. This study specifically sought to determine the demographic profile of BSHM graduating students, as well as their perceptions of the effectiveness of flexible learning implementation, career outlooks, and prospective career choices. Additionally, the significant differences between variables were investigated. A descriptive-inferential research design was used in the study. A three-part survey was distributed to the 95 BSHM graduating students. The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results revealed that the 95 student respondents were mostly in their late teens, ranging in age from 20 to 22, females, used mobile phones for online studies, and primarily connected to the internet via mobile data. The student respondents' overall perception of the effects of flexible learning was positive. They primarily believed that the implemented flexible learning required them to plan for and take precautionary measures in dealing with their future as hospitality professionals. Following that, they discovered that flexible learning had a positive psychological impact on their students' ability to learn independently and focus on their schoolwork during the pandemic. Furthermore, student respondents were found to be optimistic about their future careers. Among the possible career paths for the student-respondents, they would almost certainly go into the restaurant industry as stewards. They are, however, the least likely to pursue a career in convention sales. Students with Wi-Fi internet access also viewed flexible learning as a much more important measure for their future in the hospitality workforce than those with both Wi-Fi and mobile data access, but not those with only mobile data access. Student-respondents have nearly equal career prospects regardless of demographic variables. Lastly, the findings revealed that there are no significant differences between the demographic profile of the BSHM graduating students and their perceptions on the effects of flexible learning. However, there was a significant difference in their perceptions of the effects of flexible learning in terms of the preparations and measurements of the hospitality workforce when grouped according to their internet profile. The experimental phase of the research included testing of 18 samples; three samples of the normal concrete and 5 samples each of 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1% of the Banana fiber reinforced concrete (BFRC). The main variables considered in the experimental program were the percentage of banana fiber, constant type of concrete mix and length of 30mm banana fiber, and also the constant curing age. The samples were generated in two major processes; the extraction of banana fiber manually (tuxing and separating the fiber by scraping the pseudo stem), and mixing of concrete by casting and curing of concrete. The results of this study indicated that the variation in the flexure strength of concrete and load bearing capacity of concrete depended mainly on the banana fiber percentage. It was found that the flexural strength and load bearing capacity of concrete increased by increasing the percentage of banana fiber from 0 to 0.5%, while increasing in the strength started to vanish when approached to 1% of fiber. | Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Structural Engineering) 28 cm..

Place hold on Effectiveness of banana fiber in the flexural strength of concrete/

Success factors in the construction of brgajes building project/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Dacanay, Sheena Lei D..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023 .
v, 53 leaves : , The construction sector, which has the largest workforce in the world, plays an important role in the socio-economic development of a country. In this industry, project success is crucial. It can be defined as the endpoint of an organization's objectives, which correlate to delivery on time, within budget and within specifications. This study aims to identify the different success factors in the construction of BRGajes Building Building (Capitol Site, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya) which are categorized into four major groups such as project-related factors, external factors, project management action and human-related factors from Chan et al. (2004). For the purposes of this study, a qualitative-exploratory approach is used for the research design, wherein data were collected through survey questionnaire checklists with open-ended questions that were distributed to the chosen respondents, which include supervising engineer, project engineers, personnel from the management team, foremen, and laborers. In addition, literature reviews were done as the secondary research method of collecting data. This study is limited only to determining the success factors of the above-mentioned construction project, which is the researchers' main purpose. The results of this study were interpreted using basic statistical techniques specifically, percentage analysis for the survey questionnaire checklists and bar charts for the open-ended questions. As a result, project-related factors accumulated 73.335% which has the highest percentage. In conclusion, the most critical success factor is the Project-related factors which has a percentage of 73.335%. This firmly implies that the project's type (residential, commercial, etc.), nature (private or government-funded), complexity in terms of structure and design, and size, all of which fall under project-related factors, had the greatest impact on the success of the BRG Building's construction. For a project to be deemed successful upon completion, the process of creating a thorough project cost estimate is essential. One of the most important and often used project management tools is project costing. It is impossible to predict exact budget demands due to the complexity of projects, the inherent uncertainty of financial performance of building projects, development finance, and the monitoring and regulating of costs and deadlines. The researchers emphasized the usage of standard practices as well as standard costing for more accurate and reliable estimate. The use of Microsoft Excel was also mentioned as top software used in the process. Data gathered from this are used to elaborate an expected amount of the proposed project. Considering the feasibility of this study in 5 years' time. The calculation of costing is solely based on DPWH rates for materials, labor and equipment. The estimation for the total project cost has standard percentages to be considered. The researchers also took in consideration of some factors that may play valuable part in production rate. Sta. Fe, Kayapa, and Bayombong were among the areas covered. The farms were geotagged to provide metadata for generating GIS-based maps for the organic farms. The study collected information from identified respondents through coordination with the local government units of the municipality and referral from previous farmer contacts. A researcher guided questionnaire was used to gather the needed information by actual site visit, interview of respondents, and on-site validation of information. The study was conducted from June to August 2023. The general objective was to profile the certified organic farms, farmers and practices in Nueva Vizcaya. Results on the profiling of farms showed that majority of the organic farms were located in the municipality of Kayapa. The observed topography ranged from hilly to mountainous, with slopes primarily between 18-30% and 30-50% respectively. Farm altitudes started from 314 masl to generally 1,000 masl up to 1533 masl. Generally, farms were closed to conventional farms or residential areas hence buffer zones were initiated to prevent or avoid contamination. The described farm practices included mixed cropping. Crop rotation, and a fallow period. The majority of farmers used their own plant-based pesticide mixtures and fertilizers, however, some opted to buy organic fertilizers for ease. Coordinates from geotagging generated maps using geographical information system software provided useful information on the location of farms, characteristic of the farm, crops grown in the production site, and cultural practices. Project management can be described as the processes of carefully planning, organizing, controlling, and motivating the organization's resources in order to foster and facilitate the achievement of specific established and desired goals, as well as meeting the specific success criteria required in the organization (Larson, 2014). The present study seeks to identify the total cost and maximum duration, as well as to assist the budget process by providing estimates of the funding necessary to properly execute the proposed three-story academic building's construction. To achieve these goals, cost estimating takes into account all necessary materials, labor, and equipment, as well as indirect and engineering costs that contribute to the project's bottom line. The current DPWH rates are used to calculate material costs, labor rates, equipment rates, and production rates. Based on the projected duration, a Gantt chart and project schedule were created. Based on the study, the total projected building cost is Php 42,772,253.57. Without considering indirect expenses, the computed material costs Php 25,760,672.29, labor costs Php 5,341,546.22, and equipment costs Php 2,118,949.31, for a total direct cost of Php 33,221,167.82. The researcher used a mixed-method approach to scrutinize the technical, management, and socio-economic aspects of the SLFs using existing independent ratings. MLGU performance reports, interviews, and consultation with experts. It was found that studied SLFs were relatively underdeveloped and undermanaged. The process of determining site suitability was not based on technical analysis. The LGU's budget and staffing for SLFs are at bare minimum; staff were not technically prepared to engage in planning matters like improvement, mitigation of unprocessed waste, among others. Further, LGUs were not maximizing SLFs in terms of community livelihood and government income generation. There was no definitive perception that component barangays of the three LGUs were proactively participating in domestic waste minimization, avoidance and/or refusal. This led to the notion that waste generation remained the same, if not rising. Eventually. growing waste volume would prompt municipal governments to convert more forestlands into tail-end waste management facilities. Thus, the municipalities have intensified their information education campaign program to impart the essence of cooperation and accountability in terms of proper handling of their solid waste. The researcher generalized that this study employed variables such as financial management, social acceptability, accessibility among others, to develop a multi-faceted outlook on condition of SLF and its managing bodies. Based on the observations or survey responses, sanitary landfills success to contain waste relied heavily upon the support of the LGUs. The higher the investment cost put into the facility and management depicted that the service was effective and had quality assuming all the aspects including the barangays contributing to the facility were cooperative and accountable. | Thesis (Master of Science in Forestry - Forest Resource Management) 28 cm..

Place hold on Charting the operations of sanitary landfill facility at converted forestlands of three municipalities in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines/

Managerial and personal entrepreneurial competencies of students and alumni of business education graduate program/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Alcantara, Lhea Mae B..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023 .
xii, 121 leaves : , Competencies are critical for equipping students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that is needed to successfully navigate personal journeys in learning, living, and working. Utilizing the descriptive research design in general and descriptive-predictive research method included the 30 Senior High School Science teachers in 15 senior high schools in the Schools Division (SDO) of Quirino and 210 Grade 12 students representing the 15 schools. Based on the study, the typical Senior High School Science Teacher in the SDO-Quirino is a female, young adult in age, relatively young in years of teaching science, a bachelor's degree holder, and had adequate hours of training on blended learning modality. The teachers practiced at the integrating level application of knowledge and content within and across curriculum teaching areas, teaching strategies responsive to the educational needs of learners in difficult circumstances, and use of teaching and learning resources. They were confronted by challenges relative to the distribution and retrieval of modules, students' learning, teachers' preparedness, self-learning modules, and technical elements, but they had evident opportunities beneficial to the science teachers relative to students' learning, faculty development, and instructional materials. The Grade 12 Senior High School students who attended blended learning modality (modular and online learning) in the SY 2021-2022 were low proficient in science proficiency. They were nearly proficient in overall science process skills, specifically in basic science process skills and found low proficient in the Integrated Science Process Skills. One of the qualities that the learners need to be able to come back to school is their Mathematical resilience. Mathematical resilience is an orientation to produce a favorable mechanism to respond to difficulties in learning Mathematics (Hutauruk and Priatna, 2017). Pulungan, Retnawati and Jaedun (2022) shared five dimensions of Mathematical resilience. These are the implementation and use of Mathematics learning platforms, the adaptation of learners in learning Mathematics, the learners belief in learning Mathematics, the learners' communication skills during Mathematics learning, and the support in learning Mathematics. For this study, the last four of these factors are hypothesized to be the dimensions of the Mathematical resilience of the learners. This study generally aims to determine the Mathematical model of the Mathematical resilience of the 309 learner respondents from the Senior High School STEM learners in the Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya. A modified questionnaire is used to gather information from the learner-respondents. Multiple Linear Regression was utilized to model the learners level of mathematical resilience. The results revealed that the STEM learners of Nueva Vizcaya are resilient. Moreover, the Mathematical model of the Mathematical resilience of the Senior High School STEM learners in the Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya indicates that there is a positive relationship between the three predictors namely, final grade in Pre-calculus, Grade Level, and ADM experienced; and the learners' level of Mathematical resilience. Particularly, the shift to face-to-face learning leads to psychological anxiety and negative learning experiences, especially for those who became dependent on digital resources while studying remotely. It is for this reason that the study was conducted to identify various factors that affect their attitudes toward learning, specifically in mathematics. The study determined the interrelationship between and among learning environment, mathematical mindset, grit, and parental influences on students' attitudes toward mathematics. It ultimately endeavored to craft a proposed training design for teachers to better facilitate the teaching process of mathematics. This study was conducted in Higher Education Institutions and State Universities and Colleges in Nueva Vizcaya among 528 first year student-respondents and employed a descriptive-correlational analysis. Descriptive statistics was used to determine the profile of the respondents and to describe the various variables that affect students' attitudes toward mathematics. Structural Equation Modeling was used to determine the model that shows the interrelationship between and among the variables. Despite the challenges brought by the post-COVID transition, the students possessed favorable behaviors and perspectives and a conducive learning environment. Moreover, the learning environment directly affected the attitudes of students toward mathematics. Similarly, this is also the case for parental influence as it directly affected students' attitudes. The variables in the study have direct and indirect effects on students' attitudes toward mathematics. Therefore, these should be considered to further enhance the teaching-learning process which would eventually improve the academic performance of the students. This innovative device is engineered to detect Ochratoxin A (OTA) in food and food sources by leveraging a colorimetric signal generated through enzymatic redox reactions within an integrated assay system. During its development, utmost consideration was paid in optimizing critical parameters influencing functionality and operation, including the fine-tuning of printing and detection mechanisms. In performance evaluations, the device exhibited a remarkable ability to detect OTA in whole wheat grain samples, achieving a limit of detection (LOD) as low as 512.30 ppb. Further investigation of the developed device confirmed its selectivity for OTA even in the presence of other mycotoxins. It demonstrated a high sensitivity to small changes in concentration, consistently yielding precise signal generation and highly accurate results. These attributes make the device a promising tool for commercial applications, particularly in the detection of OTA in animal food products. The performance and effectiveness of the tool in science teaching was evaluated through a post-activity survey administered to selected participants who engaged in a laboratory exercise employing the developed device. The activity was designed to introduce the concept of chemical analysis, aligning with the principles of Analytical Chemistry. It served as a culmination of the students comprehension of chemistry, specifically focusing on topics such as stoichiometry, dilution, and redox reactions. Each respondent completed a questionnaire structured around four key dimensions of the teaching and learning process: goals and objectives, content, motivation and participation, and organization and structure. The survey findings revealed that the majority of students regarded the device very highly effective in its performance as a tool in science teaching. Their firsthand experience on the use of the device not only piqued their interest but also empowered them to actively engage in discussions and hand-on aspects of the learning process. | Thesis (Master of Education in Science Education - General Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on Extrinsic motivation and performance of teachers in schools division of Nueva Vizcaya/

Pulverized golden kuhol shell, as in additive in concrete hollow blocks/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Sebastian, Lyka A..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023 .
viii, 44 leaves : , The purpose of this study was to ascertain the characteristics of pulverized golden kuhol as an additive in concrete hollow blocks as well as the characteristics of golden kuhol shell to be regarded a construction material. On such account, the interest to explore how much the locality have adapted in the advancement of modern technological tools was set to be the goal of the study. The researchers then sought to assess how much the local construction in Nueva Vizcaya particularly in the capital town of Bayombong have innovated and adapted in the advancements of techniques and tools in planning and scheduling. For this reason, the study's title was formulated: Planning and Scheduling Practices of Constructions at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. To have a better understanding, the researchers included to study their preferred tools and techniques and collect their insights on challenges, advantages, and effectiveness of their preference. The selected respondents were construction professionals in government and private construction agencies based in Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya. With quantitative method of approach, a survey questionnaire is utilized for an accurate analysis of the respondents' feedback. The questionnaire contains demographic profile as well as Four-Point Likert questions interpreted through Relative Importance Index (RII). For the demography, employment rate and job opportunities in planning and scheduling career was revealed to be higher in government sectors of construction than in private sectors for the capital town. Subsequently, the research emphasized the ranking of traditional techniques, network tools and visualization tools according to frequency of usage by the respondents. The analysis of the survey questionnaires shows that Gantt chart was the most utilized traditional scheduling technique. PERT and CPM on the other hand are the combinations mostly used for network planning. For visualization tools, it was revealed in the study the high dependency of the respondents to MS Excel and lack of diversity in their usage of different software that are more efficient in making schedules. | Research paper (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) 28 cm..

Place hold on Planning and scheduling practices of constructions at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya/

Matric suction irrigation for tomato (solanum lycopersicum l.) in soilless cultivation under different growing media and moisture deplation levels/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Villegas, Rechie Joanne Aduca.
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023 .
xv, 83 leaves : , A pot experiment was carried out to determine the efficacy of different growbag media with varying compositions of agricultural residues such as Cocopeat, Rice husk and Sawdust, for selecting suitable materials for matric suction irrigation for enhancing the growth of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) under certain Moisture Allowable Depletion (MAD) levels. The study was conducted in Brgy. Darubba, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya from October 2022 to January 2023. The Moisture intake curve was established which showed that Cocopeat: Rice husk and Cocopeat: Sawdust mixture had the same trend of moisture intake. A Soil-water characteristic curve was also established which showed that the mixture of Cocopeat and Vermicompost has the highest water retaining capacity among all the growing media tested. The moisture content of Cocopeat, Cocopeat: Rice Husk and Cocopeat: Sawdust at 15 kPa (Permanent Wilting point) were 14%, 12%, and 10%, respectively while the Filed Capacity were 37%, 28%, and 22%, respectively. The moisture content decreased as matric suction potential increased. This indicates that growing media-water characteristic is related to particle size and pore distribution and is highly affected by growing media texture and composition. The experimental set-up was laid out in Split-Plot in Randomized Complete Block design with 9 treatments replicated thrice. The treatments used in the study were Cocopeat/ 15% MAD TI), Cocopeat/ 30% MAD (T2), Cocopeat/ 40% MAD (T3), Cocopeat: Rice Husk/ 15% MAD T4), Cocopeat: Rice husk, 30% MAD (T5), Cocopeat: Rice Husk/ 40% MAD (T6), Cocopeat:Saw dust/ 15% MAD (T7), Cocopeat: Saw dust/ 30% MAD (T8), and Cocopeat: Saw dust/ 40% MAD (T9) All treatments were mixed with Vermicompost. 120 days after sowing, ripe tomato fruits were harvested manually. Growth and yield parameters were recorded. The results revealed that the diameter of main branch, plant height and number of lateral branches were highest in the media containing Cocopeat: Vermicompost in 1:1 ratio under 30% MAD level. The significantly fruit yield of tomato (721.07 g/pot) was achieved in growing media containing equal proportion of Cocopeat: Vermicompost (1:1) under 40% MAD level. The same treatment achieved the highest results in terms of number of fruiting cluster, number of fruits per plant, single weight of a fruit, diameter and length of fruit. Besides, the promising effect of matric suction irrigation had been brought out in the study as alternative means for surface irrigation. The mean total fruit yield and mean total water applied for all the treatments during the cropping season is shown in Table 17 having the highest water use consumption among all treatments. The treatments with Cocopeat: Rice husk had better WUE than those treatments containing Cocopeat; Sawdust. Based on the analysis of variance, there is highly significant difference in crop Water Use Efficiency among the treatments. | Thesis (Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering - Soil and Water Management) 28 cm..

Place hold on Matric suction irrigation for tomato (solanum lycopersicum l.) in soilless cultivation under different growing media and moisture deplation levels/

Automation control system for greenhouse environment: application for hydroponics crop production/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Bautista, Christian John C. .
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023 .
xviii, 127 leaves : , The development of innovative ways for agricultural systems and works were introduced to evaluate the industry such as hydroponics farming. However, for appropriate plant development, disease prevention, and quicker growth, a hydroponic system requires a regulated atmosphere. Temperature, and humidity are to be considered to attain the highest efficiency in plant production. Thus, this study covers the design, construction, and testing of an economical automated greenhouse for growing Bok Choy, which aims to create a system that is both cost-effective and requires minimal human involvement after the germinated plant is placed into the system. Results showed that compared to conventional farming, adopting hydroponic A-frame plant beds increased the maximum production per unit area to approximately 40%. The automated control system validation confirmed through testing and with the provision of objective evidence have succeeded. The crop's comfort level for temperature (25-32 °C) and relative humidity (60-80%) carried out the proper activation in accordance with sensors' reading. The controller provided sufficient responsiveness and it carried out the suggested programming for the monitoring and activation of ventilation fans and mist sprinklers. The place of cultivation was found to be important for leaf size, with the values from protected production (1.2 kg/m²) being higher than those from open field production (0.8 kg/m²). The results showed that the use of covered farming had a significant impact leading to the production of healthy plants. The benefits of a regulated environment, which have increased photosynthetic activity and nutrient uptake, can be linked to the rise in vegetative growth. The cost of production factors with hydroponic system includes the cost of equipment depreciation and hydroponics modules, labor costs, nutrients, rockwool, and seeds at P2,817.88. Based on financial analysis that vegetable farming system was very profitable with a P1,002.62 net profit and breakeven point of 13.93 kg per cropping. Therefore, with its high quality to cost ratio, this system can be accessible for use of the agricultural community as well as for agro-based companies, and it can undoubtedly boost crop yields and total productivity. It investigates significant differences in performance, implementation, and relationships between the two. The study was conducted in nine (9) public secondary schools, covering the four center municipalities such as Diadi, Bagabag, Solano, and Quezon, during the school year 2022-2023. Using total enumeration and stratified random sampling techniques, the respondents were the English Reading Coordinators, and the learner-participants involved were taken from the population of Grade 7, composed of 336 learners chosen randomly. A validated research questionnaire was used to assess the implementation of the BELCRP in grade 7 learners' reading development. The English Reading Coordinators administered pre- and post-test results using the Phil-IRI Descriptive statistics were used to describe learners' profiles, reading performance, and the implementation of the Basic Learning Continuity and Recovery Plan in grade 7 learners' reading development. Inferential statistics such as the T-Test. Analysis of variance, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation were used to answer inferential problems. The study revealed that most grade 7 learners are female, 13 years old, have parents as learning assistors, have access to technology, textbooks, and digital media, and belong to mega schools. The learning continuity and recovery plan is crucial in program management, teaching strategies, objective attainment, remediation/intervention program delivery, reading skills development, and support materials. The learners with high school graduates and college-degreed parents were more independent readers in the post-test. Mega schools also showed significant improvements in reading performance, suggesting that remediations were effective in improving learners' reading performance.
