This study evaluated the grammatical writing skills of randomly selected K to 12 graduates in Nueva Vizcaya State University Bayombong Campus. The paper identified the strengths and weaknesses of written works of selected K to 12 graduates Consequently, it proposed developmental learning activities that would serve as a means to strengthen weaknesses and to address students' lack of distinct grammatical writing skills. The narrative essays of thirty (30) randomly selected participants out of a population that totaled to 200 K to 12 graduates were evaluated in terms of Content (30%), Organization (20%), Vocabulary (20%), Language use (25%), and Mechanics (5%). Three language experts served as interrater to validate the results. These thirty (30) participants were generally categorized as average to good in terms of content (mu = 24.01, sigma = 0.63) organization (mu = 16.67, sigma = 1.2) vocabulary (mu = 16.02 sigma = 0.26), language use (mu - 17.79 -0.42), and mechanics (mu = 3.76 sigma = 0, 4) There were also participants who were categorized as very good to excellent in terms of the five grammatical writing skills. However, there were participants who were categorized as poor to fair, but none of the participants were categorized as very poor. It was discovered that the average performance of the selected K to 12 graduates ranged from average to good with the mean score of 78.24 and the standard deviation of 2 34. This indicates that their grammatical writing skills were adequate to compose sentences of simple thought and structure, however, they lacked the skills to fluently express substantive ideas using a wide range of vocabulary and rhetoric, and there were occasional errors in language use and mechanics. Based on the findings, developmental learning activities were formulated to suit the needs of the participants. This study was conducted among the 103 education personnel in the public secondary schools of Cordon, Isabela. The data was acquired through a survey questionnaire consisting of three parts: personal and school profile, disaster awareness and disaster preparedness. The researcher analyzed the data using descriptive-correlational method. Descriptive methods were used to present the personal and school profile of education personnel, their disaster awareness and disaster preparedness. On the other hand, the correlation methods explored the differences among factor variables. Results showed that almost a third of the education personnel are in their late twenties towards their early thirties, have been in the teaching profession for at most 10 years. Most of the respondents are female and currently taking up their Master's Degree and are employed in an urban school setting. They exhibit an excellent awareness on each calamity being studied. This is an indication that the respondents are very much aware of how drought, flood and typhoon can turn into disasters and how they should address such disasters. Moreover, the schools are generally very much prepared in handling disasters that may come in their school setting Significant differences were observed under the typhoon and overall level of disaster awareness when the teachers had been grouped according to their number of years spent in the current school and where their schools are located. Also, the levels of preparedness of schools in terms of preparation measures and safe school facilities are statistically significantly different from the disaster awareness of the teaching personnel in terms of flood, drought as well as the overall awareness level. Lastly, the levels of preparedness of schools had an assumed effect on the level of disaster awareness of the education personnel in terms of flood and drought. The level of disaster awareness of floods of the education personnel is significantly related to their perceived level of disaster preparedness (r = 0.349) p < 0.001). Moreover, the disaster awareness of the education personnel in terms of drought had significant relationships with the perceived level of disaster preparedness of their respective public schools in all its components including the overall level of disaster preparedness of the schools ( t = 0.402, p < 0.001 ) In terms of typhoon, the perceived level of disaster awareness of education personnel in terms of typhoon, exhibited significant positive relationships with disaster preparedness of public schools in terms of safe school facilities ( t = 0.199 P = 0.044) and hazard education and training ( r = 0.275 , p = 0.005 ) as well as the overall perceived level of disaster preparedness ( r = 0.214 p = 0.03 ). | Thesis (Master of Education in Science Education - General Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on Disaster awareness and preparedness of public secondary schools in Cordon, Isabela/

Media and information literacy and critical thinking skills of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (stem) students/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Morales, Paul Corpuz.
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xxi, 149 leaves : , This study identified if there existed a significant correlation between the perception of the level of Media and Information Literacy and the level of Critical Thinking Skills of Grade 12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students of Saint Mary's University Senior High School. Eden R..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xi, 47 leaves : , The research aimed to describe the quarterly data of Rice Production in Nueva Vizcaya from 1987 to 2018 and the trend of rice production using the time series models It sought to determine the best Mathematical Model that best fit the trend of Rice Production in the province and to forecast the quarterly value of Rice Production of Nueva Vizcaya for 2019. Gathered from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the quarterly volume of total rice production will be predicted using four mathematical models which were the Traditional Time Series Analysis, Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA), Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), and Seasonally Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA). The study used the Time Series Analysis Model under Number Cruncher Statistical Software (NCSS 12) and Time Series Analysis in Microsoft Excel Analysis for Traditional Time Series. The researcher used the Microsoft Excel to compute for the r², mean absolute error, root mean square error, mean absolute percentage error and generate the different graphs in the study. To determine the best Mathematical Model that will fit the trend of Rice Production in Nueva Vizcaya by comparing the r², mean absolute error, root mean square error, mean absolute percentage error of the four models. The selected model will be used to predict the quarterly Rice Production of Nueva Vizcaya. Among the four models, the ARIMA (3,1,0) was chosen as the best fit model since it has the highest correlation coefficient 0.830, moreover, it has the lowest value of MAE that is 4,996.40 and the lowest value for RMSE with 6,385.98. In addition, the forecast accuracy on the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) using the ARIMA (3,1,0) is 11.47% and for the year 2018, only ARIMA (3,1,0) follows the trend of the actual rice production. Using ARIMA (3,1,0) model the following quarterly Rice Production of Nueva Vizcaya for 2019 were obtained: (January March) 67,079.48 metric tons, (April-June) 58,022.09 metric tons, (July-September) 64,218.80 metric tons and (October-December) 75,986.69 metric tons Keywords: Rice Production, Mathematical Model, Mean Absolute Error, Mean Absolute Percentage Error, Root Mean Square Error, Traditional Time Series Analysis | Thesis (Master of Science Teaching - Mathematics) 28 cm..

Place hold on Various time series analyses in predictive the rice production of nueva Vizcaya/

Cutting source and indolebutyric acid concentration factors affecting root initiation in stem cuttings of tibig (ficus nota merr.).
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Luis, Julie E..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xii, 78 leaves : , The study aimed to determine the effects of cutting source and level of IBA and their interaction effects on percent survival, percent rooting, number of adventitious roots, length of adventitious roots and development of callus. It also aimed to determine the most effective and most economical source of cuttings and level of IBA on the different parameters. The study found out that the percent survival of the Tibig stem cuttings was significantly influenced by source of cuttings (matured tree and wildlings). The cuttings from wildlings exhibited the highest survival rate (100%) as compared to the survival rate of cuttings from matured tree (38.75%). The different levels also significantly influenced the survival rate where TO (No IBA) gave the highest survival rate (87.50%) and comparable with cuttings applied with 200 ppm and 400 ppm of IBA. The interaction effect of source of cuttings and levels of IBA showed that cuttings from wildlings had 100% survival than those cuttings from matured tree. The rooting percentage of Tibig stem cuttings was affected by the source of cuttings, levels of IBA and its interaction effect. The cuttings taken from wildlings had 100% rooting while cuttings from matured tree had 38.75%. The highest rooting percentage (87.50%) was observed on the untreated cuttings but is comparable with those cuttings applied with 200 ppm and 400 ppm IBA. On the interaction effect cuttings taken from wildlings had 100% rooting while those from matured tree rooting had 75% rooting. The number of roots produced by Tibig stem cuttings was significantly affected by the sources of cuttings. Those cuttings taken from wildlings had 153.31 number of roots produced while those taken from matured tree had 52.13. The length of adventitious roots was significantly affected by the sources of cuttings, levels of IBA and its interaction effect. Stem cuttings from wildlings gave the longest roots (85.60 mm) and those cuttings taken from matured tree had 52.68 mm. The development of callus was affected by the sources of cutting and levels of IBA. Cuttings taken from wildlings had percent callusing of 92.50% as compared to those taken from matured tree with only 40.62%. Based from the results of the study, the best source in the propagation of Tibig using stem cuttings were wildlings than matured tree. The application of IBA appeared not needed for Tibig stem cuttings. The said species is found to be easy to root, thus there is no need to apply rooting hormone like IBA. Further research is hereby recommended for propagation of Tibig using stem cuttings considering other parameters like different rooting media, age of wildlings and matured tree and its growth and survival in the field. | Thesis (Master of Science in Forestry - Forest Resources Management) 28 cm..

Place hold on Cutting source and indolebutyric acid concentration factors affecting root initiation in stem cuttings of tibig (ficus nota merr.).

Prediction models of the incidence of aphids (toxoptera citricidus) and rind border (prays endolemma diakonoff) on citrus production in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya using the weather elements/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Melchor, Olive T..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
x, 62 leaves : , Citrus is a banner commodity of Nueva Vizcaya State University and Cagayan Valley (Region 2). The greatest volume of mandarin production comes from Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya and the production is declining partly attributed to pests and diseases specifically aphid and rind borer insects. This study aimed to model the incidence of aphids (Toxoptera citricidus) and rind borers (Prays endolemma Diakonoff) using the different weather elements in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya specifically temperature, rainfall, humidity, and solar radiation. Time Series Analysis using expert modeler was used to generate weather models and NCSS was used to forecast weather values. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was also used to generate the prediction model of the incidence of aphids and rind borer. The temperature model is ARIMA (0,1,9), rainfall model is ARIMA (0,0,0), humidity model is ARIMA (1,1,0), and solar radiation model is ARIMA (3,1,0). It was found out that Temperature 1, Temperature 2, and Rainfall 2 have significant correlation with the population of aphids, and weather elements have no significant correlation with the population of rind borers resulting to no generation of rind borer prediction model. it was also found out that the best predictor of the incidence of aphids are temperature 2 and rainfall 2. This study recommends that the timing for the pest control measures for aphids should be administered two weeks before the population could increase. It evaluated the possibility of providing energy from a renewable, clean energy system to minimize pollution from non-renewable energy system. Specifically, it aimed to design and fabricate a turbine for utilizing pumped water from a modified water wheel for electricity generation, evaluate the power generated from the turbine as affected by loads (e.g., appliances) and perform economic analysis of the system. A multi-tester was used to measure the actual energy generated by the system. The hydro-energy recovery system has four major components, water tank and platform, water turbine, alternator, battery, and battery charging system. The performance of the system in producing electricity was tested. The best size of water jet was 50 mm diameter PVC that can provide more rotation of the turbine with a theoretical water power of 245.25 watts The highest load applied on the system was 265 watts and the lowest was 21 watts which were determined on variable water power of the system. The coefficient of determination, indicates that 98.62% of the variability of the voltage produced, I can be explained by the variability in the total applied load, tal. This translates to a correlation coefficient of r 0.99. Only 13.15% of voltage consumed is attributable to the total applied load. The economic analysis revealed that a payback period of the system is 2.32 years which could be attained if it is be operated continuously for 12 hours. This means that the total investment of P 68,931.00 can be recovered in that span of time. The hydro-energy recovery system is highly recommended for electricity generation by utilizing the pumped water from the modified water wheel. Additional storage tanks could be provided to maximize the operating conditions of the system. Furthermore, the system could be utilized in conjunction with irrigating crops from rivers or other flowing water whose surface elevation is lower than the area to be irrigated. In addition, a solar pump could be provided to recycle the waste water of the system. The prototype may be applied to the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) for protection. | Thesis (Master of Science in Electrical Engineering - Power Systems) 28 cm..

Place hold on Hydropower energy recovery from water wheel pump: a green campus initiative for the Nueva Vizcaya State University Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya/

Response of three cabbage (brassica oleracea var. capitata l.) hybrids to age of plug transplant under Nueva Vizcaya lowland condition
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Ugali, Delony A..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xiv, 74 leaves : , The study was conducted at the University Central Experiment Station (UCES), Nueva Vizcaya State University, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya from December 2018 to April 2019. It aimed to determine the response of three cabbage hybrids as influenced by different ages of plug transplant during dry season under lowland Nueva Vizcaya conditions. Specifically, the study evaluated the growth, yield, and quality performance of three cabbage hybrids as affected by different ages of plug transplant, identify the cabbage hybrid that would give the optimum yield and head quality along with the appropriate age of plug transplant, and assess the economic profitability of cabbage production using different hybrids and ages of plug transplant. The study was arranged in a split-plot randomized complete block design with three replications. The hybrids, namely, "Scorpio", "Sure ball FI', and 'Greenball FI', were designated as sub-plot while the ages of plug transplants, 3-, 4-, and 5-week-old seedlings, were designated as main-plot. The 5-week-old plug transplant used in cabbage production remarkably promoted early head formation compared to the 4-week and 3-week-old plug transplants. However, in terms of number of days to harvest, the age of plug transplant did not significantly influence the number of days to harvest. As such, the cabbages, regardless of the age of plug transplants, were ready for harvesting about 95 days after planting. On the other hand, 3-week-old seedlings gave the highest head length, head weight, yield per plot, computed yield per hectare and head volume. As to the hybrid, 'green ball F1' and 'Sure ball F1' have the highest head length of cabbage. However, 'Scorpio' formed the head earlier and gave the greatest head width, highest yield per plot, and head volume. In terms of economic profitability, 'Scorpio' cultivar using a 3-week-old plug transplant gave the highest economic return on expenses (ROE) of 153.93% or P1.53 for every peso invested in the production. Meanwhile, 'Sure ball F1' using 3-week-old plug transplant generated the lowest ROE of 134.75% or P1.34 for every peso invested in the production. Females (overline x = 12.13 SD = 2, 77) performed better than males (\mathbb{x} = 10.38, SD = 4.96) thus, there was a significant association between gender and their posttest scores (x ^ 2 * (4) - 9, 77, p = (44) Religious sect (x ^ 2 * (12) = 16.38. p = 0.175) showed no significant association with the posttest scores of the respondents. Age, as well, did not significantly affect the level of achievement of students as the correlation resulted t = 28 p =,880 Their computer skills, however, showed a strong positive significant association with the posttest scores of the students (r - 0.575) p = 0.001) Findings showed that there was no significant relationship between the mean scores of the evaluation of students on the developed CAI and the evaluation of teachers on the different criteria. Instructional Process (t (5.52) = 0.676. p = 527), Screen Design and Layout (t (5.16) = 0.852 p = 0.432), Ease of Operation and Execution (t (5.29) = 0.643 p = 547) and Leamer Responses (prime (34) = 0.577, p = 568) This means that teachers and students alike feel and think similarly on the developed CAI that had an overall qualitative description of very good Quantitatively, teacher's evaluation had an overall mean score of 46, while students mean score resulted to 4.5 overall. Therefore, it can be concluded that groupings according to age and religious sect do not significantly affect the level of achievement of students when using the intervention. However, results showed that gender and computer ability of students affect the performance of students significantly through the use of the intervention. Additionally, teachers and students agree to the same parameters on evaluating the developed intervention material. These conclusions could imply that the intervention could be used as an alternative and/or an enhancement to the laboratory way of dealing the topic on factors affecting the rate of chemical reactions but not entirely as its substitute. | Thesis (Master of Education in Science Education - General Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on An interactive guided-inquiry virtual experiment (igive) in chemical reactions for junior high school students/

Effects of growth promoting substances on rooting of petroleum nut (pittosporum resineferum hemsl.) stem cutting/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Hiadan, Laine S..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xv, 91 leaves : , The study was conducted to determine the effect of different growth promoting substances on rooting of Petroleum nut (Pittosporum resineferum, Hemsl.). Literatures and further studies state that plants and its ecosystem can sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store in its biomass. Quantifying it through allometric equations provide more data to support the inquiries. Tree-based land-use systems, such as the shade-grown Robusta coffee farms of Tabuk City, Kalinga Philippines, sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in their biomass. At the same time, these shade trees provide additional products and services to local residents and reduce pressure on existing forests. Therefore, increasing tree cover in coffee production is a viable option for mitigating climate change that also provides social, economic and ecological benefits. The objective of this study is to generate aboveground carbon-stock estimates of Robusta coffee farms in Tabuk City, Kalinga, Philippines. The sites include coffee grown under shade trees. The carbon stocks of shade trees, coffee plants and leaf litter were calculated for each site. Results of the study showed that Robusta coffee farm in Tabuk City, Kalinga, Philippines can store the amount of 193 ,13Ctha^ -1 in its aboveground biomass. The shade trees store the largest amount among the components amounting to 166.46Cth * a ^ - 1 It is followed by coffee plants which store 23.18Cth * a ^ - 1 in its biomass. Litter stores the least amount among the three components, measured 3.49Cth * a ^ - 1. This study recommends that the shade layer in Robusta coffee farms of Tabuk City. Kalinga Philippines be made more complex for increased carbon storage and maintenance of biodiversity, as previous papers suggest. Also, Robusta coffee farms in Tabuk City can serve as carbon sink comparable to a forest due to the presence of shade trees, one of the components which give the largest contribution to carbon stock. The study used qualitative and quantitative data to describe the nature, practices, and performance of the horticulture market in the province of Nueva Vizcaya through its agricultural terminal, NVAT. Survey questionnaires for NVAT traders, focused group discussions for farmers and farmers' organizations, key informants’ interview for Viajeros and public market retailers in Solano, Bambang and Bayombong and secondary sources were used to describe how structure affected conduct and conduct affected performance and vice versa. The study employed descriptive statistics to describe the socio-demographic profile of respondents where it revealed that the market was dominated mostly by married women. Furthermore, the Gini-coefficient and Lorenz curve were used to determine that the market operated in a mixture of perfect competition and oligopoly as the market exemplified highly concentrated and less competitive characteristics. This was based ongini-coefficients of the assembler-wholesalers: 0.8947 for cabbage, 0.8912 for tomato, 0.6769 for squash and 0.7184 for ginger and the Gini-coefficients for bookers/disposers: 0.8086, 0.8569, 0.6250 and 0.2917 for cabbage, tomato, squash and ginger, respectively. Likewise, the predominant marketing and vegetable flow in NVAT started from farmers to transporters to assembler-wholesalers to bookers/disposers to Viajeros to public market retailers and finally to consumers. An analysis of the pricing schemes, advertising and sales promotion strategies and terms of sales were conducted to describe market conduct. It revealed that advertising and promotion activities were not common in the market and prices for commodities were based on various factors. Additionally, the gross margin, marketing margin and marketing efficiency were used to evaluate the market performance of the NVAT market. The level of profitability differed from each player where farmers received low margins as compared to other players, particularly, bookers/disposers, Viajeros and public market retailers. Moreover, as a market aimed at improving the socio-economic status of the people in the province particularly farmers, various programs and support services were given by different agencies and organizations to further improve the market performance of the commodities. The identification of stakeholder's involvement in destinations and enterprise developments as well as factors that may affect their participation to various tourism and enterprise promotional campaigning is very vital. This study determined the current practices of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bagabag, Province of Nueva Vizcaya, in promoting the enterprise and tourism development, with the use the inductive approach in determining the promotional level of the tourism and enterprise of the municipality. Furthermore, this study also developed a multimedia campaign material which tested the perspective of the stakeholders on the comparison of impacts of the multimedia campaign material and traditional campaign material, in which of them would be more effective in promoting, advertising and marketing of the tourism and enterprise of this municipality. Also, this study determined the significance of both campaign materials on the perspective of the stakeholders. The developed multimedia campaign material is a new technologically-based material which is composed of potential areas for tourism and enterprise of the town, that is purposely used for promotion. This study comprised of 220 stakeholders of Bagabag as respondents. This study also used Quantitative and Qualitative method of research in determining the result of the study. The conduct of the study found out that the municipality lacked the promotion of tourism and enterprise, further, allocated funds but used only for office and personnel purposes. The development of the multimedia campaign material paved way as the first step in the promotion of the tourism and enterprise of Bagabag. This study showed that the use of the multimedia campaign material has higher impacts and more influential to the group of respondents using the test of mean and standard deviations, analysis of variance, t-test and multiple comparisons. This shows further that the respondents strongly believed that the multimedia campaign material is vital tool in promoting the enterprise and tourism of the municipality of Bagabag, moreover, the traditional campaign material also showed progressive implications to the respondents, making it a tool in educating the community and the future visitors of the town. There were prospect impacts on the lifestyle of the community on the implementation of the material, especially the tourism development and enterprise growth which will be the major players for the development of the municipality. Finally, the result of this study would help tourism and enterprise development of the municipality of Bagabag in using the multimedia campaign materials. The respondents of the study are corn farmers who have undergone GAP trainings with 5-years experience in corn farming, at least 0.5 hectares or more area of corn farm and an active participant in GAP corn project inclusive of the GAP certified farmers. The study was conducted for school year 2019-2020. Mix research method, the quantitative and qualitative was utilized to achieve a more reliable result. A structured questionnaire and interview guide were the main data gathering tools in this study. Triangulation was done by conducting focus group discussions and key informants' interview substantiated by personal observations and ocular visits. Descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, and mean was used in describing the personal attributes of the respondents. Likert-type scale was used to analyze the institutional support and services level of influence, level of awareness and extent of compliance as well as the seriousness of problems encountered. In measuring if there are significant relationships between the variables used in the study, the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (Pr) was explored and in testing whether there is a significant difference between the variables, the ANOVA was used. Margin of error was set at 0.05 level of significance. For the demographic profile, the average age of the farmers is 52, their educational attainment is mostly high school level and graduate, the average land area is 1.93 hectares, the average number of years in corn farming is 20, majority (86.3%) are members in farmers organization, and has participated in GAP related trainings such as IPM (96.3%) and ICM (74.4%). Among the demographic characteristics that has significance to the respondents level of awareness in GAP corn are sex, highest educational attainment and trainings which is relevant in farm environment, pre-harvesting and harvesting practices at 5% level of significance, however, it has no significant relationship with GAP corn compliance. The level of influence of institutional support and services' has slight effect on GAP corn compliance. Although when correlated with level of awareness and extent of compliance, it is significant at 1% level of significance. The respondents' level of awareness is high and was qualitatively described to have 76-100% awareness of the certification requirements in GAP corn while the extent of their compliance is qualitatively described to have 51-75% compliance with GAP corn certification requirements which suggests that awareness is 25% higher than their compliance. As to the relationship of the respondents' level of awareness to their extent of compliance in GAP corn, GAP awareness is parallel to the respondents' compliance for GAP corn wherein the level of their awareness is significant with the extent of their compliance at 1% level of significance. For the constraints that hinders the compliance of GAP corn, institutional support on special market is very serious while inadequate production support, post-harvest facilities, extension, research and farmers education, credit, information dissemination and late procurement of seed assistance are serious. For constraints along GAP corn compliance, all the variables such as capital and labor intensive, establishment and procurement of farm structures and other tools, delayed release of soil analysis, voluminous documentation and records, inadequate knowledge and skills on farm planning and budgeting, and lack of understanding and appreciation of GAP purposes are rated as serious. Non-adoption of post-harvest practices is slightly serious. | Thesis (Doctor of Philosophy - Rural Development) 28 cm..

Place hold on Determinants of good agricultural practices (gap) adoption among corn farmers in Nueva Vizcaya/

Entrepreneurial competencies of women led agri-enterprises in the urban municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya/ Erickson C. A total of twenty (20) farmer participants with irrigated rice fields adjacent to each other were the respondents from the four municipalities. While forty (40) system evaluators and end users from the academe, DA planning officer, ICT program developer and agriculturist/technician evaluated the proposed iRYCE application. A questionnaire, interviews, and observations were conducted from the field practices of the farmers with all the inputs in the conceptual paradigm of this study. The researcher used frequency count and percentage distribution, mean, chi-square, pearson rand linear regression analysis to predict and determine the extent of relationship of projected rice yield with the result of soil analysis, average yield of the participants per annum, rice variety, fertilizer application, number of days of rice seedling before transplanting and harvesting. Dynamic System Development Method Framework was utilized as its guide in the development of the iRYCE application. As a result, Nitrogen nutrient of the soil samples from the four municipalities had a low qualitative description. Phosphorous nutrient test had a qualitative description distributed from low to high and Potassium had a high qualitative description. The municipality of Solano had an average description rating in terms of average yield per annum while the three other municipalities had a descriptive rating of low. The overall rice varieties that were utilized by the farmer participants were RC 222 (45%), RC 226 (25%), RC 216 (12.5%), RC 152 (10%), RC 440 (5%) and RC138 (2.5%). Majority of the farmer participants followed fifteen days (15) after transplanting in their fertilizer application of side dress. While the days before harvesting practice of the farmer participants had a range from 108 to 115 days. Findings showed that the extent of software compliance as evaluated by system evaluators revealed that the proposed system was accepted unconditionally based on ISO 25010 criteria. The results showed that the overall features of the system with respect to ISO criteria were all met. Influencing household IYCF choices has been proven to be a complicated engagement. Several government interventions mainly focused on drawing positive behaviors of families to optimal IYCF practices were initiated with various successes and failures. It has been found in various studies that adoption of appropriate IYCF practices is affected by several geographical, socio-economic, and cultural factors. This study investigated the adoption and management of appropriate IYCF practices in Nueva Vizcaya Philippines with the end goal of enhancing and strengthening the province's Child Nutrition Program. Factors considered were socio-demographics, current IYCF practices, and issues and concerns of program implementation. Information was generated from 205 mothers with stunted children, 28 field program implementers, and 30 IYCF program managers. Results were presented and analyzed using descriptive statistics. A general profile of a mother with stunted children in Nueva Vizcaya was established by the study. She is one who is between 25-35 years old, with no membership to any organization, married, literate but without college degree, with one to three children, main occupation is farming and/or housewife, main source of family income is farming and/or daily wage earners, and resident of either upland or lowland community. This study found out that mothers in Nueva Vizcaya were generally challenged by physical and situational limitations, rather than behavioral inclinations, in their adoption of optimal IYCF practices. Breast problems, inadequate or absence of milk flow, and work outside home emerged as the major barriers to adoption. Compared to the latest national figures, early initiation of newborn to breastfeeding in Nueva Vizcaya was higher, exclusive breastfeeding up to a child's sixth month was slightly lower, continued breastfeeding up to two years or beyond was lower, and introduction of solid or semi-solid foods to babies at less than six months was slightly higher. The IYCF program of the province was found to be strong in terms of personnel and funding but these strengths were also among its weaknesses due to gaps between lowland and upland areas. Services, facilities, and manpower were mostly concentrated in the lowlands while these were lacking in the uplands. The need to strengthen existing community-based IYCF support group was apparent and mother's capacity to adopt appropriate IYCF practices was the biggest challenge and threat to IYCF program success. Correlation analysis was utilized to determine the relationship between the respondent’s socio demographic, management practices and performance. The study shows that NVAT Inc. employees were mostly male whose age fell under 36-45 years old belonging to the Igorot and Ilocano group. Half of respondents were Bachelor's degree graduate based in the administrative, finance, accounting and the business line department, particularly, the marketing and agricultural production program. The planning aspect of the management practices rolled out on seven statement where employees considered their organization high in setting organizational goals, developing strategies to reach those goals, determining resources needed, setting of standards, working out in advance for achieving terminal objective for both on short term and long term period, approaches of the terminal pointing to a declaration that something will happen in the future and in activating preemptive preparation for future scenario that must be in placed in the organization. The level of performance in this study considered four areas; the financial perspective, customers' perspective, business processes perspective and the learning and growth perspective. The assessment of employees in the financial perspective of the organization was high, customer perspective, internal business processes and learning and growth perspective was qualitatively rated high respectively. Overall, the employees rated the overall performance at high level. The financial perspective under this study explored in three statements where the employees rated themselves high in their outlook regarding financial performance of NVAT in terms of profit, liabilities, assets and owners' equity, borrowing capacity of NVAT from its creditors wherein creditors were willing to offer financial provision to NVAT. The respondents' level of adoption of the management practices of organizing, directing and coordinating did not correlate significantly with the socio-economic attributes. However, the respondent’s adoption of the management practices of controlling/leading significantly correlated with ethnicity, length of service and the number of related trainings attended. All variables on management practices adoption, such as organizing, directing, controlling, coordinating, and planning significantly correlated with the variables on the level of performance in terms of financial perspective, customers' perspective, business processes perspective, and learning growth perspective. The result denotes those personnel of the NVAT who were Ilocanos, and those who had rendered more years of service, and those who had attended a greater number of related trainings and seminars had higher adoption of more appropriate management practices of leading/controlling in the institution. The positive correlation coefficients denoting the relationships between the variables inferred that those personnel who had attended a greater number of related trainings and seminars had higher level of performance in financial and learning and growth perspective. The higher the level of adoption of the NVAT personnel on the appropriate management practices, the higher would also be their level of performance of the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal, Inc. As such, government are found to be very much supportive in all of its endeavors. Support to micro entrepreneurs is the centerpiece of many legislations and one particular law geared towards helping the micro entrepreneurs in the Philippines is the BMBE Act of 2002. This study focused in assessing the implementation of the BMBE in the province of Nueva Vizcaya. The 37 entrepreneurs awarded with BMBE certificates served as respondents in the study while the government agencies implementing the BMBE served as Key Informants. The research used the IPO model in defining the research paradigm, and gathered data through a survey and key informant interview. The data were processed using frequency and percentages, weighted mean, and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. The result of the study showed that female millennials engaged in processing business, operating in 100,000 pesos and below revolving capital dominated the BMBE entrepreneurs and majority of the BMBE implementing agencies had no specific budget allocation and human resource assigned. The study also revealed that majority of the BMBE entrepreneurs were not aware of the incentives and benefits in its entirety hence its non-ailment. Because of this, the BMBE entrepreneurs rated most of the implementing agencies with a Satisfied rating, and perceived them to be Less Effective in the implementation. Age is found to be significantly correlated in the level of satisfaction and perceived effectiveness. The entrepreneur’s issue was centered in the information dissemination and recommended its intensive campaign. This study was conducted among the 267 Grade 7 students in the five public secondary schools. The respondents of the study rated the modified SLLE questionnaire. The data were acquired through a survey-questionnaire consisting of two parts socio-demographic profile and laboratory learning environment indicators. The researcher analyzed the data using descriptive-inferential methods. Descriptive methods were used to present the profile of the students, their perceptions on the laboratory learning environments and academic performance in science. On the other hand, the correlational methods explored the differences and relationships among the factor variables. Results showed that almost two-thirds of the students are females and in their early teens. They are performing very satisfactorily in their science subjects. The science laboratory learning environments are satisfactory. Student cohesiveness indicators and material environment indicators were mostly observed. However, there is an observed need to improve on laboratory materials and equipment. Significant differences were observed in most of the indicators of laboratory learning activities when they were grouped according to sex and ethnicity. Males and respondents with different ethnicities tend to look at the positive side of the science laboratory learning environments. In addition, age, sex, and distance between residence and school of the respondents were found to be significant different by academic performance in Grade 7 Science. Lastly, there was no significant relationship between the perceptions of the respondents about the laboratory learning environment indicators and their academic performance in science except for the rule clarity indicators. This meant that if the laboratory's structure and expectations were not always communicated and implemented during laboratory sessions, then the students tend to have a higher academic performance. This may be attributed to the behavior of the students who tend to explore rather than be stickler of rules. Most often than not, it in this situation that discoveries arise. The freedom students’ experiences tend to encourage them to gear up and discipline themselves. | Thesis (Master of Education in Science Education - General Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on Science laboratory learning environment and academic performance among junior high school students in kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya/

Biodiversity assessment of the bird breeding ground and sanctuary in Carmencita, Delfin Albano, Isabela/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Rodriguez, Dominic G..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xx, 92 leaves : , Generally, the study was a biodiversity assessment of the Bird Breeding Ground and Sanctuary in Barangay Carmencita, Delfin Albano, Isabela, in terms of estimating the density of birds and trees and enumeration of herbaceous plants, fishes, crustaceans and mollusks. The first factor was the different substrates which include: pure sand, 3:1 sand to coconut coir ratio; 2:1 sand to coconut coir ratio and 1:1 sand to coconut coir ratio. The second factor was the various IBA concentrations to be applied as follows: 0 IBA (or distilled water only), 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm and 2000 ppm. The percent survival of Bignay (Antidesma bunius) cuttings showed high percentage of survival across the different rooting media and IBA concentrations. In the interaction effect of the two factors, it revealed that highest percent survival (100%) was achieved by the application of 2000 ppm IBA regardless of the rooting media used. However, in the analysis of variance, it was found that there was no significant difference (at 5%) on the percent survival of A. bunius cuttings among the treatments. Mean root length of A. bunius cuttings was highest when applied with 1500 ppm IBA planted in 54 rooting media and lowest without IBA (0 ppm) and planted in S4 rooting media. Highest mean adventitious root number was in A. bunius cuttings applied with1000 ppm and 2000 ppm IBA, with mean value of 5.00 planted in S2 and S3 rooting media, respectively. The best IBA concentration that can aid to induce rooting would be at 1000 ppm and the best rooting media are S1 and S3. The highest mean number of shoots were produced by A. bunius cuttings which were applied with 1500 ppm IBA (6.42) and those that were planted in S1 rooting media (6.33). On the other hand, highest number of roots were produced by the cuttings planted in S2 (0.85) rooting media and the cuttings applied with no IBA (0 ppm). The most effective treatments in the development of roots and percent survival of a bunius stem cuttings are treatment SIC4 and S2C3. Yet, economically, 500 ppm IBA is adequate using S1 and S2 rooting media. In the mean number of shoots, the highest was in A. bunius cuttings applied with no IBA (0 ppm), 1000 ppm IBA and 1500 ppm IBA (7.33) and those that were planted in pure sand and in rooting media S3. | Thesis (Master of Science in Forestry - Forest Resource Management) 28 cm..

Place hold on Effects of indolebutyric acid (iba) and different rooting media on the growth performance of bignay (antidesma bunius linn. spreng) cuttings/

Science process skills, attitudes, and proficiency among special science learners in the schools division of Santiago City/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Matias, Arvin Angelo R..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
xi, 92 leaves : , This study assessed the extent of the practice of the different steps of scientific inquiry among special science learners in Santiago City. It also determined their perceived predisposition towards science and gauged the level of proficiency in the subject. Using descriptive correlation method of research, questionnaires were administered to measure the special science learners' level of science process skills, attitudes and proficiency in science. The descriptive part assessed the profiles of the special science learners and their levels of attitudes toward science and basic science process skills. The correlation part determined the relationship of the profile variables to the science proficiency of the student-respondents and among the science process skills, attitudes, and proficiency in science. The respondents were 87 special science learners of STE-implementing schools (Santiago City National High School and Rizal National High School) of the Schools Division of Santiago City identified through random sampling. Value, and Spearman's correlation coefficient were used to ascertain their effect to one Pearson r correlation, Chi square test of Association using Fisher's Exact Test another Hypotheses were tested at 01 and 05 levels of significance The findings showed that special science learners have a near mastery level of process skills, very satisfactory attitude and beginning proficiency in science. Furthermore, it was found out that the special science learners are on age bracket 14 to 17 years old; the greatest number of the respondents has two siblings, in terms of father's occupation, technicians and associate professionals dominates among the occupation while the mothers are belonging to elementary occupations; and the educational attainment of the respondents' fathers and mothers is mostly college graduate. There is no strong and significant correlations among and between the students science proficiency, science process skills, and attitudes toward science with the demographic profile involving age, sex, number of siblings, father's occupation, and mother's occupation. Father's highest educational attainment, is significantly related to science proficiency and science process skills. In the same manner where mother's highest educational attainment is significantly related to science proficiency. They are essentially closed boxes made from soft, porous, highly insulating refractories. Inside the electric kiln, running along channels grooved into its walls, are coils made from a special alloy. Heat is produced by forcing a great deal of electric current through these tightly wound coils. The result is friction and the result of the friction is heat. The study analyzes how a newly designed Electric Ceramics Kiln would enhance the production of ceramic products and lower energy consumption by reducing the length of firing time to meet the desired firing temperature. The Applied Research design was employed specifically the Experimental Research. The performance of the existing Electric Ceramic Kiln of NVSU is compared to the newly designed electric ceramics kiln in terms of their length of firing time, energy consumption, and surface quality of fired ceramics. Result of the study showed that the new electric ceramics kiln has a much lesser length of firing time compared to the old electric ceramics kiln. A percentage reduction of the length of firing time for 750°C,850°C, 950°C, and 1050°C are 80.88%, 80.00%,75.38%, and 71.33%, respectively. The energy consumption of the new electric ceramics kiln is lower than the energy consumption of the existing electric ceramics kiln. The energy cost saved was P457.40, P552.90, P615.73, and P672 28 for the firing temperature of 750°C, 850°C, 950°C, and 1050°C, respectively. Further, on the surface quality of ceramics fired, both electric ceramics kiln wired in "WYE" and "DELTA" connection have surface quality evaluated as Grade C and generally considered acceptable. Specifically, the study established the lethal concentration (LC30) of Croton tiglium seed extracts using brine shrimp cytotoxicity assay, determined the bio efficiency of powdered and capsulized C.tiglium (CCT) seeds as anthelminthic through percent efficacy and assess the cost of deworming native chickens and Muscovy duck with C. tiglium seeds compared to commercial anthelmintic. Thirty-six free range native chickens (G. domestics) and thirty-six Muscovy ducks (C. mascbata) naturally infected with gastrointestinal parasites were independently used in this study The experimental birds were randomly distributed following a completely randomized design into four treatment groups (levamisole-niclosamide, 200mg, 300mg and 400 mg of capsulized C. tiglium seeds). Fecal egg count per gram was evaluated using me master technique during the pretreatment and at 3rd, 6th 9th and 12th day post treatment and subjected to analysis of variance. The result on the percent efficacy of C. tiglium seeds on Ascaridia galli/Heterakis gallinarium on chickens (G. domesticus) at 200 mg and 400mg revealed highly effective on day twelve post treatment. The percent efficacy of tiglium seeds in Ascaridia galli Heterakis gallinarium in ducks (C. mascbata) showed to be effective at 300mg and 400mg post treatment. The comparative cost analysis of the four treatments showed that the use of C. tiglium resulted in a lower cost compared to the commercial dewormed. The price of commercial anthelminthic was more costly compared to the cost of capsulized C. ugluan seeds on T4 (400mg CCT) by 89. 67 percent. Each replication contains 60 eggs and fry. Aqueous extract for egg and fry immersion was prepared by boiling whereas leaf extract for oral administration was prepared by ethanol extraction. Egg immersion was performed by immersing yellow eggs in hormone solutions for 96 hours while fry immersion was completed by immersing the experimental fish in the hormone solutions every seven days for 28 days for 2 hours starting from the yolk-sac fry stage. On the other hand, oral administration was completed by feeding the experimental fish with hormone treated feeds for 28 days, starting from the time of complete yolk absorption. ALEB recorded the highest survival rate (58.89%) in the egg immersion treatment (p<0.01) while lowest (13.33%) was from the 17a-methyltestosterone treatment. In the fry immersion and oral administration techniques, highest survival rate (22.22%) was recorded in the negative control (p<0.01) with lowest at 170-methyltestosterone (13.33%). Highest percentage male in both oral administration (74.74%) and egg immersion (82.61%) techniques was obtained in the treatment using 17a-methyltestosterone followed by ALEB with 64.96% and 80.18% males, respectively. On the other hand, highest percentage male (75%) in fry immersion technique was observed in the treatment using ALEB, followed by 17a-methyltestosterone with 70% male. The result of the present study revealed no significant difference between ALEB and 17a-methyltestosterone which suggests that ALEB can be used in the sex reversal of Nile tilapia with the same effect as the 17a-methyltestosterone Basella alba can therefore be used as an alternative source of hormone, in place of the 17u-methyltestosterone which is commonly used in the sex reversal of Nile tilapia Moreover, the use of egg immersion technique in the sex reversal of Nile tilapia using Basella alba can achieve higher percentage of male compared to oral administration and fry immersion techniques. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Efficacy of alugbati (basella alba) leaf extract on the sex manipulation of nile tilapia (oreochromis niloticus) using oral administration and immersion techniques/

The relationship of tourist characteristics and perceived importance of tourist destinations attributes in Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Campos, Claire P..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2019 .
x, 39 leaves : , This study aimed to determine the effects of tourist characteristics to perceived importance of tourist destination in Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. Lastly, the results of the correlation procedures yielded a highly significant relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction with an R-value of .774 and a significant level of <.001, 28 cm..

Place hold on Effect of food quality on customer satisfaction of casual dining restaurants in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya/

Quality and acceptability of empanada fortified with vitamin A-reni levels (40%, 50%, 60%) of young cassava leaves (Manihot esculenta)/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Pugong, Aivie I..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University; 2019 .
xii, 44 leaves : , This study aimed to develop a process for the preparation of cassava leaves to be used as a fortifier in making empanada without adversely affecting its acceptability as perceived by a panel of sensory evaluators. The acceptable level use was determined through a laboratory panel evaluation on the sensory quality of the fortified product in terms of appearance/color, flavor, texture, and general acceptability using the 9- point Hedonic Scale. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) for a completely randomized design (CRD) was used in the analysis of data. The RENI levels for vitamin A fortification (40%-60%) did not exert any negative effect on the appearance/color, texture, flavor and general acceptability of the products. The fortified product was found to be comparable to the empanada (control). The mean ratings which ranged from 7.2 to 7.7 have a descriptive equivalent "Like very much" to "Like moderately". The optimum level used that can be incorporated in empanada has no causing negative effect on the general acceptability of the product 60% RENI level. This result implies that cassava leaves can be used as a fortifier in recipes requiring vegetable like empanada to enhance its vitamin A content thereby helping alleviate malnutrition. 28 cm..

Place hold on Quality and acceptability of empanada fortified with vitamin A-reni levels (40%, 50%, 60%) of young cassava leaves (Manihot esculenta)/

Handbook of forests and forestry/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Mukherjee, Ajay .
New Delhi : Random Publications, 2017 .
vi, 279 pages : 24 cm..

Place hold on Handbook of forests and forestry/

Leadership that matters/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-971-816-194-4 (pkb.)</dc:identifier>

By Kong, Francis J..
Quezon City: ABS-CBN Publishing, 2017 .
152 pages ; 21 cm..
978-971-816-194-4 (pkb.)

Place hold on Leadership that matters/
