There were 222 student respondents who were identified by the advisers and subject teachers, and 31 teacher respondents who were selected through purposive sampling Descriptive-survey type of research was used involving data collection through questionnaire as well as document scanning with interview. Data analysis used frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and rank. To test the relationship among variables, correlation was used. Hypotheses were tested with alpha level of significance .05. Among the problems encountered by the students, finances, home and family, religion, physical and health related concerns were labeled as 'not a serious problem, while academic adjustment, social and recreational activities, personal-physiological relationship and curriculum and teaching procedures were labeled as "slightly a serious problem. The common offenses made by the student respondents arranged from highest to lowest are 'habitual tardiness, cutting classes and absences; "chewing/spitting betel nut';"using cell phones during class hours'; littering/loitering", "drunkenness', 'improper use of uniform and 'insubordination to authority"; "cheating', 'petty quarrels/instigating a fight" and "bringing pornographic materials' and tampering school documents". On student factor, problems on finances are found to be positively correlated with age, religion, number of siblings, person staying with, and membership in a peer group; academic adjustment and on social and recreational activities are positively correlated with age and religion; personal-psychological relationship is positively correlated with age, religion, and birth order, home and family as well as physical and health related concerns are found to be positively correlated with age, religion, number of siblings; and religion is positively correlated with age and number of siblings. On parent factor, the social and recreational activities and physical-health related concerns problems of the identified delinquent students negatively but significantly correlate with the educational attainment of their parents. The negative correlation coefficient implied that respondents whose parents have lower educational attainment experienced more serious problems. On teacher factor, curriculum and teaching procedures negatively but significantly correlate with the educational attainment and income of teachers which implies that delinquent students whose teachers have lower educational attainment and have lower income were more likely to experience problems in curriculum and teaching procedures. In view of the findings, the following are the conclusions: that older delinquent students who are Roman Catholics, with more number of brothers and sisters in the Family, who stay with both of the parents and with many members in a group tend to have more serious problem in finances; Older delinquent students who are Roman Catholics tend to have more serious problems in their academic adjustment to high school, recreational activities and social aspects; delinquent students who are the youngest in the family have more serious problems in their personal and psychological aspects, delinquent students whose parents have lower educational attainment experience more serious problems regarding social and recreational activities and physical health related concerns; delinquent students whose teachers have lower educational attainment and lower income are likely to experience problems in curriculum and teaching procedures; delinquent students whose parents are using physical punishment, not allowing their children to attend parties and giving strong admonition or sermon tend to have more serious problems; and, delinquent students whose teacher is giving low grades, strong admonition and referral to the guidance counselor or school head tend to have more serious problems. In the light of the findings and conclusions of the study, the following are recommended: Strengthen Values Education and Homeroom Program in the curriculum; include lectures on information dissemination about responsible parenthood or any related topic targeting the needs and problems of the students during parent-teacher conferences; pursue staff development of teachers and encourage them to attend advance studies for the benefit of the educational system, and not only for promotion but also for enhancing the pursuit of excellence, source out more funds or devise income generating projects for the increase of salaries of teachers, voluntarily submit in the pursuance of advance studies and attendance to seminar-workshop; and investigate further about discipline of the students on a wider scope. | Thesis (Master of Education - Educational Administration) 28 cm..

Place hold on Factors associated with causes of identified disciplinary problems among high school students in Ifugao/

Effect of modular instruction on the academic achievements of second year studets in scinece an dtechnology II/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Lacuata, Maria Leonora I..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009 .
xiii, 171 leaves : , This study sought to determine the effect of modular instruction on the academic achievement of second year students in Science and Technology II using two second year intact classes of Bagabag National High School at Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. The study was deemed important since the use of developed module resulted in better academic achievement among the students in Science and Technology II. The significant findings and conclusion of this study are as follows: The students who were exposed to modular approach gained a higher academic achievement with a registered a mean score of 33.56, which is qualitatively described as "very good" as compared with those students who were exposed to traditional method of teaching with a mean score of 22.83 although it was also qualitatively described as "good". The two groups are comparable in terms of their pretest result since there is no significant difference between the pretest mean scores of the control and experimental group. The students learned through the traditional method as manifested in their mean scores in their pretest and post test. The experimental group learned through the modular approach since there is significant difference between the pretest and the posttest mean scores of the experimental group. Their mean score in the posttest is higher than their mean score in the pretest. The group who was exposed to the modular approach learned better than the group who was exposed to the traditional method of teaching as manifested in their posttest mean scores. In this study, it shows that the modules are effective and valid instructional materials. Considering the conclusion made, the researcher offers the following recommendations and suggestion: The learning module should be tried out further to another experimental group to substantiate its effect on the academic achievement of second year students. Students should be exposed to modular instruction to maximize their participation in the teaching-learning process and to gain more self confidence and independence. The study proved that modular teaching affect the academic achievement of second year students in Science and Technology II. This method should be applied to other subjects as well as other level of education. Therefore the teachers should use modular teaching to improve academic achievement of students. Since modular teaching in classroom setting affects academic achievement, Biology teacher should be provided training in module writing and teaching. Similar studies should be conducted on a wider scale using other topics in Biology. | Thesis (Master of Education in Science Education - General Science) 28 cm..

Place hold on Effect of modular instruction on the academic achievements of second year studets in scinece an dtechnology II/

Socio-demographic profile and biomedication aptitude/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Bacsa, Alma Miguela C..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009 .
xiii, 116 leaves : , The study was conducted to determine the socio-demographic profile and biomedication aptitude of parents: their relationship to the morbidity rate of preschool children in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. To achieve the above aims, the study used the descriptive research method. The study was undertaken last November 2008 to January 2009 in the selected barangays of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. There were 150 parents of preschool children that were randomly chosen from the study sites who served as the respondents for the study. The data were gathered through a validated structured questionnaire. The study indicated that the more the number of preschool children in a family, the more frequent was the occurrence of cough in the first preschool child. The study also found out that boils and other skin diseases occur more frequently in preschool children whose parents have lower educational attainment; while parasitism was more frequent among Tagalog and Ifugao preschool children. Cough occurred more frequently in household that has more preschool children; while fever occurred more frequently among preschool children whose parents have low monthly income. Diarrhea was more common to preschool children whose parents have lower level of aptitude in the preparation of medicinal plant species, while boils/skin diseases were more common among preschool children whose parents have low level of aptitude on the awareness of medicinal plants species which were used in the study. Parasitism among preschool children was more rampant to those whose parents who have lower level of aptitude on the utilization of medicinal plants species in the study sites. Fever was more frequent among preschool children whose parents have lower level of biomedication aptitude on the awareness on medicinal plants. Likewise, the occurrence of parasitism was higher among preschool children whose parents have lower level of biomedication aptitude on the utilization of medicinal plants; while, the occurrence of other ailments was higher among preschool children whose parents have lower level of biomedication aptitude on the preparation of medicinal plants. It is then recommended that parents should adopt health practices that could mitigate or prevent the occurrence of diarrhea, boils/skin diseases, and parasitism among their preschool children. Enhancing parents' aptitude in the preparation of medicinal plant species could help curb the occurrence of diarrhea among preschool children while improving the awareness of parents on medicinal plants species could help reduce the occurrence of fever, boils/skin diseases. Enticing parents to utilize more the medicinal plants in the study could also help curb the occurrence of parasitism and other ailments in preschool children. | Thesis (Master of Science-Home Technology) 28 cm..

Place hold on Socio-demographic profile and biomedication aptitude/

Classroom management style preferences and problems of male public elementary school teachers/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Viloria, Ryan Romero .
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009 .
xii, 122 leaves : , This study focuses on the Classroom Management Style Preferences and Problems of Male Public Elementary School Teachers. The respondents were 125 male teachers from public elementary schools in Nueva Vizcaya The descriptive-correlation method of research was used in this study, with the questionnaire as main data-gathering instrument. The questionnaire was divided into three parts 1) profile indicators, 2) classroom management style preference, and 3) classroom management problems checklist. The study employed the following statistical: frequency counts, mean, percentages, correlation, t-test and f-test, and Post hoc test employing Scheffe method to identify which pair/s is/are significantly different. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to generate the statistics output specified in the study From the findings of the study, the following major conclusions were drawn: Most of the respondents are young, married, receiving more than 10,000Php, occupying Teacher 1 or Teacher III, and rendered an average length of 9.82 years in service. On their educational background, they really decided to teach and took Bachelor in Education and upgraded their competency by taking courses leading to a Master's degree. Majority have more than 300 minutes teaching load with an average number of pupils ranging from 20-29 and were assigned in non-central schools. Their main reasonfor entering the teaching profession is 'own choice' and they enjoy their profession as teachers. The major classroom management style preference of male teachers is authoritative. Regarding the classroom management problems, the male teachers perceived physical condition of the room, routinary practices, and classroom disciplinary problems as 'not serious' while classroom behavioral problems were perceived as 'moderately serious'. Whether the teacher preferred authoritative, authoritarian, laissez-faire or permissive style, the study found that preference had no bearing on the problems encountered by the male teachers. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following are recommended: 1) Since most male teachers enjoy what they are doing in spite of the fact that most of them earn an average net monthly of P 7,400 they should be given some sort of incentive or promotion; 2) Male teachers should maintain and enhance their classroom management styles; 3) Male teachers should be vigilant in handling behavioral problems of their pupils; 4) Attendance to seminars, workshops and trainings to improve male teachers competence is encouraged; 5) Young teachers must be given assistance to improve classroom management styles with the help of older teachers, or through an orientation seminar for new teachers; 6) Teachers should assess their classroom management style, address the weak points and fit their styles to appropriate situations for the achievement of effective teaching-learning processes; 7) Administrator, peers as well as their pupils should assess the classroom management style preferences of their teachers periodically. | Thesis (Master of Education - Educational Administration) 28 cm..

Place hold on Classroom management style preferences and problems of male public elementary school teachers/

Household waste managment practices: their relationship to the health problems of preschool children in Nueva Vizcaya/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Fulgencio, Maria Teresa A..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009 .
xv, 122 leaves : , This study was conducted to determine the household waste management practices in relation to the health problems of the preschool children in Nueva Vizcaya. To attain the purpose of the study, a structured questionnaire was constructed and administered in the three (3) most urbanized municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya namely, Bayombong, Bambang and Solano. There were 300 households that served as respondents of the study. The data were gathered from September to November 2008 and analyzed by means of descriptive and inferential statistics Findings of the study revealed that the younger respondents tend to have adopted better practices of waste processing in terms of waste reduction in the home. They were, however, observed to dump waste in the rivers and in open areas. Married individuals have adopted more appropriate and environmentally friendly disposal of biodegradable households waste such as composting and placing them in covered containers and receptacles. Respondents with higher educational attainment generated lesser biodegradable waste materials but they generated more bulky waste or used appliances/furniture. Respondents with higher monthly income generate more bulky wastes or used appliances/ furniture and they do not practice any waste reduction at home. Findings revealed that they disposed their wastes in open areas. As to the effect of the waste management practices to the health problems of the preschool children, the incidence of asthma, typhoid, diarrhea, dengue and hepatitis was lessened when plastics were recycled and when strategies for household waste reduction and proper waste disposal were adopted by household members. The study also showed that households that adopted waste disposal practices and segregated solid waste in appropriate containers reduced the possibility of occurrence of malaria and weak lungs among preschool children. The more biodegradable waste the households produced, the higher is the occurrence of dysentery, respiratory disorders, allergies, parasitism and fever among the preschool children. When the respondents generated more household toxic wastes or have not adopted the proper waste processing in terms of recycling of papers there was a high occurrence of cough among preschool children. | Thesis (Master of Science-Home Technology Education) 28 cm..

Place hold on Household waste managment practices: their relationship to the health problems of preschool children in Nueva Vizcaya/

Leisure the activities of working mothers: their relationship to family resources and recreational facilities/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Robles, Dona Bells Balico.
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009 .
xiii, 80 leaves : , This study attempted to determine the leisure time activities of working mothers and their relationship to family resources and recreational facilities. The study was conducted in three municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya specifically, Bayombong, Solano and Bambang. Generally, the results of the study reveal the following: The subjects of the study have an average age of 33 years, generally with college degrees, employed in both private and government agencies. Majority of the respondents have a monthly income ranging from P3,000 P11,000, belonging to various ethnic groups but predominated by Ilocanos and Roman Catholics. On the relationship between profile and leisure time activities the respondents' physical and intellectual leisure time activities showed no significant correlation with their socio-demographic profile while the socio-demographic profile religion significantly correlated with shopping (r = 0.195) and traveling (r = 0.197) for social leisure time activities. The income as family resource significantly correlated with the following profile variables: age (r=0.304), educational attainment (r=0.454), and occupation (r = 0.397). As to time as family resource no significant relationships was noted with the socio-demographic profile of the respondents. Time as family resource significantly correlated with the following recreational facilities: bathing resorts (r = - 0.268) picnic grooves (r = -0.408) and library (r = - 0.19). On social leisure time activities, the family income significantly correlated with watching the TV (r = - 0.234) , playing musical instruments (r = 0.205) , shopping for leisure (r = 0.195) and traveling for leisure (5 = 0.197). A total of 60 liver samples were used in this study Each of the samples was tested for the presence antibiotic residues through the size of the zone of inhibition the around test organisms. The test organism used is Staphylococcus aureus. It was found out that the three products taken from the market of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya are positive for antibiotic residues wherein a total of 49 tissue samples with equivalent of 81 67% Hrand B liver tissue samples registered 15 (75%), Brand M. 18 (90%) and Brand S, 16 (50%) respectively. Proving that the poultry producers may be not aware on the proper use and withdrawal of antibiotic These products may be hazardous to the health of the consumers if they continuously consume liver tissues with antibiotic residue even it is at how level. It was reported that the two main concerns raised by continuous use of low-level antibiotic of low level are possibility of developing bacterial species resistant to antibiotics and therefore not amenable to conventional drug therapy in cases of clinical illness and increasing the risk for human population to anaphylactic reaction by sensitizing a person and without this knowledge, allergic reaction may occur upon exposure to antibiotics. There is increasing strong evidence that humans are at risk from eating meat that comes from livestock reared on subtherapeutic antibiotics. There are strong trends indicating antibiotic resistant food- borne bacteria is on the rise and are primarily transmitted from the food individuals consume. Antibiotic residue on meat can be dangerous by either promoting an allergic reaction or increasing the number of antibiotic-resistant organisms on one's digestive tract. All samples were positive for fungal growth with six nematode-trapping fungi species identified namely, Arthrobotrys oligospora, Arthrobotrys dactyloides, Arthrobotrys superba, Catenaria anguillula, Nematoctonus concurrens and Stylopage hadra. Out of the six species, only three were effective as trapping fungi. These were Arthrobotrys oligospora which exhibited a lysing effect with the greatest number of trapping effect on nematode larvae, Arthrobotrys dactyloides formed constricting rings to trap nematode and Catenaria anguillula produced uniflagellate zoospores to parasitize the nematode. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Occurrence of nematode-trapping fungi in goat (capra hircus) and sleep (ovis aries) in Valencia farm, Diffun, Quirino/

Harnessing Trematode-trapping fungi as biological control of the larval stage of liver fluke (fasciola gigantica) in the snail vector (lymnea auricularia)/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Lacamento, Colleen G..
Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009 .
xiii, 43 leaves : , The study was conducted to isolate fungi from soil sample in Paitan, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya and to test their trapping effect on the larval stage of liver fluke present in the snail Lymnea auricularia. The study used the Complete Randomized Design with the following treatments: treatment 1- Lymnea auricularia with distilled water (negative control), treatment 2- positive control treated with molluscicide, treatment 3, 4, and 5 used 1 x 106, 1 x 109 and 1x1012 spores per ml respectively. The results are as follows: the larvae of Fasciola gigantica treated with molluscicide (Karate®) died and this was subsequently followed by the death of the snail; Treatment 3 shows that Lymnea with mycoparasite applied with 1x 106 spores per ml showed trapped larvae, but no death was recorded. Treatment 4 with greater concentration of fungi at 1x 109 spores per ml. shows that the larvae were trapped and killed. The study also reveals that the greater the concentration of the fungi the greater the possibility that a higher number of larvae will be trapped. The fungi isolated from the soil are the following: Arthrobotrys dactyloides, Meria conospora, Macrosporium cyanopagum and Macrosporium olipsosporum, However, only Arthrobotrys dactyloides was effective in trapping and killing the larvae of Fasciola gigantica one hour after exposure. Sixteen (16) randomly selected adult sheep of both sexes from the NVSU sheep project were used in the study. The experiment composed of four replications was assigned into the different experiment’s unit. It followed the Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with the following treatment: T1- Positive Control (Albendazole); T2 – 10 grams of ground squash seeds per head of sheep; T3- 20 grams of ground squash seeds per head of sheep; T4- 30 grams of ground squash seeds per head of sheep. Results showed that GSS was effective against Haemonchus, Srongyloides, Ostertagia, Bunostomum, Trichuris, Trichostrongylus and moneza. Efficacies however, varied among the 3 doses of GSS and the number of days post- treatment. Highly effective results were seen against Trichuris and Monieza. The ground squash seeds could be used as an anthelmintic alternative in sheep especially against Haemonchus, Oesophagostomum, strongyloides, Trichuris, Monieza, Trichostrongylus, Bunostomum and Ostrtagia. It aimed to determine the presence of tuberculosis infection among goat stocks using Tuberculin Test. A total of 58 goats aging from birth and above were used in the study Classification and sex of animal were assessed in relation to the occurrence of tuberculosis in goats. Furthermore, the "Tuberculin PPD intradermic" was administered intradermally on the neck or cervical region. The survey study using tuberculin test showed that no test animal reacted positively to tuberculosis. This means that caprine tuberculosis is apparently absent in all the experimental animals at selected farms in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya. It is recommended that the farm personnel should continue their health management practices in their farm, so that the occurrence of tuberculosis will be prevented. Research similar with the present study using greater number of animals to be tested should be conducted. Studies on the incidence or occurrence of tuberculosis using other animals like cattle and horse are also recommended. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Prevalence of tuberculosis Iin selected goat farm in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya/

Efficacy of powdered neem (azadirachta indica) seed as anthelmintic against gastrointestinal parasites in sheep (ovis aries)/
<dc:identifier>ISBN:</dc:identifier>

By Alejandro, Ma. Specifically, the study aimed to establish the efficacy of dried tobacco leaves as alternative and economic dewormers. The study was conducted at the Valencia Farms in Diffun, Quirino and at Tapaya Diagnostic Center in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. Sixteen sheep whose weight ranged from 21 kg to 23 kg were confined in individual pens and were administered with the designated dosage of dried tobacco leaves and albendazole (Impregon) The treatments were single dose only and were observed within a 16-day period. Initial results after 4 days post treatment showed that the T1 or albendazole registered the highest reduction of gastrointestinal parasitic eggs at 70.47% while the dried tobacco leaves (DTL) treatments at varying dosages also registered reduced egg count but at a lower rate. Results on the 8th day after the administration of DTL, there was a significant difference among the treatments Comparison of mean showed that T4 was highly significant against T1, T2, and 13; while the efficacies of T1 and T2 were comparable; highly significant between 11 and 13 and significant between T2 and T3. At this stage, the efficacy of DTL as dewormer for T1and T4were highly effective while T2and T3were just effective based on the standard by Reik and Keith. On the 12th and 16th day after administration of varying dosages of DTL, the EPG and FECR were already comparable to that of T1 (albendazole) or commercial dewormer. At this point, it was safe to conclude that DTL treatments administered were also as highly effective as commercial dewormer in reducing parasitic eggs counts. It was noted that the treatments considerably reduced the eggs considering different factors such as sanitation of the surroundings, the daily ingestion of fodders, which may contain parasites, and cleanliness of water being taken in and containers being used by the experimental animals. | Thesis (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) 28 cm..

Place hold on Effects of dried tobacco (nicotiana tabcum) leaves on the egg output of gastrointestinal parasites of sheep (ovis aries)/

Wireless network security /
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-8489-237-6 (pbk.)</dc:identifier>

India: Springer, 2007 .
viii, 422 p. : 23 cm..
978-81-8489-237-6 (pbk.)

Place hold on Wireless network security /

Design of microprocessor based systems /
<dc:identifier>ISBN:978-81-8487-276-7 (pbk.)</dc:identifier>

By Bansal, Vinod Kumar.
New Delhi: New Age International, 1985 .
vii, 154 p. : 24 cm..
978-81-8487-276-7 (pbk.)

Place hold on Design of microprocessor based systems /

The Digital Library
<dc:identifier>ISBN:(pbk.)</dc:identifier>

By Buenrostro, Juan C., Jr..
Quezon City : GBP 2009 .
149 p.
