<br/><br/> The study compared the anthelmintic efficacy of powdered tobacco leaf with the commercially available anthelmintic (fenbendazole) and the study also determined the cost of treatment between tobacco leaf and fenbendazole, a commercial dewormer. <br/><br/>The study was laid out following the Complete Randomized Design with the following Treatments. Treatment 1- Fenbendazole, Treatment 2- 18 mg powdered tobacco leaf, Treatment 3- 20 mg powdered tobacco leaf and Treatment 4- 22 mg powdered tobacco leaf Each treatment was replicated 5 times.<br/><br/>The study revealed that the anthelmintic effect of powdered tobacco leaf is comparable to the commercial preparation (fenbendazole) against Capillaria and Ascaridia Heterakis For practical means, the powdered tobacco leaf could be recommended as a substitute for fenbendazole as an anthelmintic.<br/>The study determined that the cost of treatment using powdered tobacco leaf was cheaper than the commercially available dewormer (fenbendazole).
