Serrada Traffic congestion is encountered on a regular basis in and around the central business district (CBD) of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya which impacts the economy, the environment and people mobility This study aims to identify the most congested areas and its factors, provide intervention measures to alleviate traffic congestion and determine the accident-pronc arcas in the municipality. The study used a quantitative and qualitative approach in gathering the data needed. The researchers adopted a manual approach to evaluate traffic flow in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya through manual vehicle count. The analysis of the results revealed that the most probable causes of traffic congestion is due to road use factors, poor maintenance and poor traffic control measures. Conclusively, it was observed that the intersection of National Road and Saquing Street is the most congested area, followed by Dumlao Boulevard and Zulueta Street intersection. The traffic congestion is most prominent during Fridays between 4:30-5:00 PM and Mondays and Wednesdays at around 4.30-50:00PM. Moreover, Saturdays at 7:30-8:00 AM experiences a free traffic flow on all the considered stations. The areas with highest accident rates are along the Maharlika Highway in Bonfal West, along the Bayombong Diversion Road close to the Public Market, and along the Maharlika Highway in Busilac which were visualized through GIS mapping. The researchers, therefore, recommend to promote alternative transportation modes, clearing of the roads, providing a parking space for businesses, commercial establishments and government employee. It can also be proposed to mitigate potential strategies and implement traffic control measures to alleviate traffic congestion.
