<subfield code="a">The study was conducted to test the efficacy of chrysantemum (Chrysanthemum indicum) flower crude extract against cattle tick (Rhipicephalus microplus) given in vivo to animals The study was laid out following the Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with the following treatments T1 (Positive Control), T2 (75% CFCE), T3 (100% CFCE), (Negative Control) There were three replications per treatment T4.

Based on the result of the study, T11 (cypermethrin) attained 100% efficacy as early as 30 minutes followed by T1 (100% CFCE) at 30% while T2 (75% CFCE) and T (water) showed 0% efficacy The result of the study revealed an increase of percentage mortality as the concentration of CFCE is increased. The time of exposure also showed increasing percentage mortality the longer the ticks were exposed to the extract. Both treatments T2 (75% CFCE) and 3 (100% CFCE) had comparable efficacies with treatment 1 (positive control) beyond 120 minutes against both the male and female ticks.

Further studies are recommended on the effect of chrysanthemum flower using different methods in extraction like decoction and methods on how to prolong the effect of chrysanthemum flower crude extract.
