<note>This study introduced the Zumba Fitness Program as a physical activity intervention for overweight and obese learners, employing a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design. Grade 7 and 8 overweight and obese learners were selected through simple random sampling, forming the experimental group (Zumba) and control group. Descriptive statistics summarized the demographics and baseline health. Paired t-tests or ANOVA compared pre- and post-intervention data within the Zumba group, while independent t-tests or ANOVA compared data between groups. Correlation procedures determined variable relationships.

The study was consisted of a predominantly adolescent population aged 12-13, with balanced gender distribution. Grade levels were evenly distributed between 7 and 8. indicating a representative sample. Most participants were from middle-income families, with a notable minority from lower-income brackets. While there were slight improvements in height and flexibility, notable changes were observed in weight and body mass index (BMI), with the Zumba Fitness Program leading to a decrease in mean weight and BMI among participants. Regarding cardiovascular health markers, minimal changes were noted in blood pressure and oxygen levels, while a slight decrease in heart rate was observed in the Zumba group. Additionally, improvements in muscle strength weresignificant in the Zumba group compared to the control group, although aerobic capacity/cardiovascular fitness showed a decline post-intervention in the Zumba group.

The Zumba Fitness Program effectively promoted weight management and healthier BMI outcomes among overweight and obese individuals. Furthermore, it significantly improved cardiovascular fitness, as evidenced by enhanced heart rates in the experimental group. The intervention also enhanced aerobic capacity, muscle strength, and flexibility, which showcased its comprehensive impact on overall physical fitness.

The Zumba Fitness Program consistently enhanced anthropometric measurements and cardiovascular health among various demographic groups, and it uniformly improved physical fitness levels across diverse participant profiles, indicating its general effectiveness.</note>
