Dela Cruz This study attempts to provide a concise overview of the key aspects and findings about the Coping Mechanism of Construction Firms to Financial Challenges Faced Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic. This study aims to identify the challenges of construction firms in Nueva Vizcaya to distinguish the coping mechanisms and strategies used. The Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted various industries, including the construction sector, leading to financial difficulties for construction firms worldwide. Construction businesses established strategies to mitigate the impact of the pandemic towards the firms. This coping mechanism, it aids the financial challenges of construction firms to continue operating amidst the Covid-19 pandemic This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge in Construction Engineering Management specifically in the financial aspect by providing tried and tested coping mechanisms to cope with the financial challenges of construction firms during the Covid-19 Pandemic and serves as a foundation for future research endeavors in this area. The study used mixed approach that was administered by questionnaires through Likert scales and open-ended questions. This was conducted within the construction companies or firms from the province of Nueva Vizcaya with twenty-five respondents Thus, to accomplish the objectives. This study examined various problems and coping mechanisms used to aid financial difficulties. For Manpower, a shortage of laborers caused by the Pandemic itself made construction companies hire without age restrictions and provided financial assistance to the remaining laborers. For Materials and Equipment, the construction firms encountered financial difficulties due to the increase in the costs of construction materials. Having a good relationship and good communication with the suppliers will result in a mutual and beneficial agreement on how to handle deliveries and payments which eased the financial problem of price increase. Acquiring own equipment is an advantage to avoid renting.
