N1  - Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) are members of the Citizen Armed Force as volunteers called upon to complement the operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in their respective localities. Based on the country's experiences with its counterinsurgency operations, the problem is multi-dimensional that requires a package of different but complementary responses. Hence, the AFP's Triad Operations Concept.

Triad operations stemmed from the primary operations of the armed forces which were combat, intelligence, and civil-military operations. Therefore, the study focused on the triad operations capability of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary as a basis for triad operations capability enhancement program.
The study used a sequential quantitative-qualitative method in determining the triad operations capability of the CAFGU Active Auxiliary under the operational control of the 86th Infantry Battalion in Isabela Province.

The respondent’s profile and the level of triad operations capability in terms of combat, intelligence, and civil-military operations were determined through frequency count, percentage, and standard deviation. The result of the study showed that CAFGU Active Auxiliary had a very high level of combat operations capability, a high level of intelligence operations capability, and a high level of civil-military operations capability Overall, the CAFGU Active Auxiliary in the study area had a high triad operations capability.

Moreover, significant relationships between the respondents' profile and triad operations capability were also determined. The study revealed that age, length of service, number of refresher training attended, and threat category of duty assignment of CAFGU Active Auxiliary were significant factors for combat operations capability. Likewise, educational attainment and threat category of duty assignment of CAFGU Active Auxiliary were significant factors for intelligence operations capability. Further, educational attainment, indigenous cultural community (ICC) affiliation or ethnicity, and threat category of duty assignment of CAFGU Active Auxiliary were significant factors for civil-military operations capability.
Overall, the study revealed that the threat category of duty assignment of CAFGU Active Auxiliary was a significant factor in the level of combat operations capability, intelligence operations capability, civil-military operations capability, and triad operations capability as a whole. Hence, the triad operations capability in the study area needed to be enhanced.
