Factors affecting students’ attitudes toward mathematics during the post- pandemic transition: structural equation modeling approach/ Kristine Jean Genove Salvia - Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023. - xii, 153 leaves : illustrations, photos ; 28 cm.

The post-pandemic transition in education has caused new challenges for the students. Particularly, the shift to face-to-face learning leads to psychological anxiety and negative learning experiences, especially for those who became dependent on digital resources while studying remotely. It is for this reason that the study was conducted to identify various factors that affect their attitudes toward learning, specifically in mathematics. The study determined the interrelationship between and among learning environment, mathematical mindset, grit, and parental influences on students' attitudes toward mathematics. It ultimately endeavored to craft a proposed training design for teachers to better facilitate the teaching process of mathematics. This study was conducted in Higher Education Institutions and State Universities and Colleges in Nueva Vizcaya among 528 first year student-respondents and employed a descriptive-correlational analysis. Descriptive statistics was used to determine the profile of the respondents and to describe the various variables that affect students' attitudes toward mathematics. Structural Equation Modeling was used to determine the model that shows the interrelationship between and among the variables. Despite the challenges brought by the post-COVID transition, the students possessed favorable behaviors and perspectives and a conducive learning environment. Moreover, the learning environment directly affected the attitudes of students toward mathematics. Similarly, this is also the case for parental influence as it directly affected students' attitudes. The variables in the study have direct and indirect effects on students' attitudes toward mathematics. Therefore, these should be considered to further enhance the teaching-learning process which would eventually improve the academic performance of the students.
