Ragasa The study was conducted to evaluate the growth performance and cost effectiveness of using homemade probiotics as compared to commercially available growth promoter (Vetracin) for 35 days. The experiment was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design with the following treatments: T1-10% Lactobacillus casei, T2-20% Lactobacillus casei, T3- 30% Lactobacillus casei, T4- Commercially available growth promoter (Vetracin) and T5- Pure water. Each treatment had three (3) replicates containing five (5) experimental units. The result of the study showed that based on the growth performance parameters such as mean weights, average daily gain and feed conversion ratio of the broiler chickens the five experimental treatments has a comparable result.
