Responses of arabica coffee (coffee arabica l.) seedlings to different types of fertilizer management and levels of irrigation/ Arlia S. Golonan - Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2021. - xiii, 57 leaves : illustration, photos ; 28 cm.

This study was conducted to evaluate different types of fertilizer management and water irrigation levels on Arabica coffee seedlings in CAR so that coffee seedlings will be distributed to farmers in a span of one and half year. Data gathering was done during a four-month period after the date of transplanting for plant height and girth under Baguio City conditions. Fertilizer management (no fertilizer applied, wood vinegar (bamboo), phosphorus and lime, and nitrogen) and water management (pot capacity, 60 ml-farmer's practices, 25%, 50%, and 75% of pot capacity) were factorially combined and laid out in split plot experiment arranged in the randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications.

Results showed that phosphorus and lime rates at a rate of 2.31 g lime and 750 mg P/pot and 50% of pot capacity (30 ml) water significantly (p ≤0.05) increased plant height and stem girth of the potted coffee seedlings. The results further indicated significant reduction in the nursery period of coffee seedlings from two (2) years to one (1) year with an average height of 16.23 cm, close to the required and recommended height of 20-30cmready for distribution to the farmers, Significant effects in the interaction between fertilizer and irrigation factors was observed. On-farm evaluation of the root length to check the nutrient response during the nursery period and irrigation frequency using a soil moisture tester for the purpose of drip irrigation studies are highly recommended.
