This study investigated the career barriers faced by Hospitality and Tourism Management students and their impact on professional identity, career intention, and motivational satisfaction. 255 BS in Tourism Management and BS in Hospitality Management students at Nueva Vizcaya State University completed a survey assessing their perceptions of personal, social, and interactional career barriers. The study found that, some individual variations and concerns existed, particularly regarding peer pressure. motivation, and challenging work environments. Significant differences in career barrier perceptions were observed based on age, sex, course, and year level, highlighting the need for targeted interventions. Importantly, the study revealed a negative impact of career barriers on students' professional identity, career intentions, and motivational satisfaction. emphasizing the urgency of addressing these barriers through proactive interventions. Recommendations include developing targeted programs for specific student groups, incorporating career development resources into the curriculum, and facilitating mentorship programs. Further research is needed to investigate the effectiveness of interventions in mitigating career barriers and fostering a robust future workforce for the Hospitality and Tourism Management industry.
