Survey on the breeding, health management practices and reproductive parameters of dairy cattle in selected areas of Region II Junnel G. Muņoz - Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2023. - xv, 71 leaves : illustration (some colored), photos ; 28 cm.

The study was performed to identify the breeding management and health management practices and evaluated how breeding and health management effects on the reproductive parameters of dairy cattle farms in Region II A total of 9 farms from selected provinces of region 2 were interviewed for the survey on the breeding, health management and reproductive parameters of dairy cattle Out of the 9 respondents, five (5) are from Isabela, two (2) respondents are from Nueva Vizcaya, one (1) respondent is from Quirino, and one (1) respondent is from Cagayan. All farm respondents provided their demographic profile, farm profile, breeding management, health management, and reproductive parameters. Analyzed data show strong positive correlation between first service fertility rate and type of disinfectant used (r=-0.868, p<0.025). Calving to first service interval has a strong negative correlation between cows that gave birth once that return to heat in 70 days and got concepted and frequency of deworming (-0.919. 3010) A strong negative correlation was observed between calving to conception interval and dewormer used (Doramectin, oxfendazole, fenbendazole) (r=-1.000, p=0.00) A strong negative correlation was observed between calving rate and basis of breeder selection (Progeny) (r=-0.685, p,0.042), strong positive correlation between disinfectant sed (r=0.708, p,0.033), and a strong positive correlation between frequency of using hormone (PGF2a (r=0.682.p<0.043) Calving to calving interval in multiparous cows who have given birth for 400-500 days after calving has a strong negative correlation between frequency of sanitation ( r = - 0.715 p < 0.046 ) strong positive correlation between method of giving dewormer ( r = 0.88 p < 0(4) and strong positive correlation in the use of vitamins and minerals (molasses) (r=0.880, p < 4 ) A strong negative correlation was observed between calving to calving interval in multiparous cows that has given birth for 500 days after calving and method of giving dewormer (r=-0.863, p < 0.006 ), use of vitamins and minerals (molasses) ( r = - 0.863 , p < 0.006 ) and frequency in giving vitamins and minerals (molasses) ( r = - 0.863 p < 0.006 ) Based on the finding of this study, we recommend that farmers should practice daily sanitation, regular disinfection, regular disposal of waste, and use of disinfectant that is capable enough to kill microbes in the farm, practice regular deworming, vitamin and mineral administration, practice dewormer rotation and practice strict biosecurity measure for the possible entry of disease.
