<br/><br/> This study ascertained the demographic profile of student-athletes of Isabela State University, their perception levels of academic motivations and sports motivations, their level of academic performance, the demographic variables that significantly predict academic performance, the academic motivations that significantly predict academic performance, sports motivations that significantly predict academic performance, and the demographic profile, academic motivations and sports motivations that significantly predict academic performance.<br/><br/>	The investigation used the descriptive-inferential design. The descriptive method used to describe the demographic profile of the respondents and their academic and sports motivation. The inferential method employed to look into the relationship between the variables and to identify the demographic variables, academic motivation and sports motivation that significantly predict the academic performance of the student athletes. Frequency and percent distribution was used to answer the demographic profiling, mean distribution was used to answer the level of academic motivation, sports motivation and students' performance of the respondents, and the backward multiple linear regression was used to answer the problems on predictor variables of students' performance. All statistical computations such as frequencies, and prediction were done through the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences for Windows (SPSS v. 16). The target population for this study was the registered student-athletes from Isabela State University who were registered as athletes and competed in the Regional SCUAA and National SCUAA. Based on the consolidated records from the sports coordinators of the respective campuses, there were 232 registered student-athletes. Using Slovin's formula, the required research sample from the population is 147 at 5% margin of error (a=0.05). A semi-structured questionnaire was used to gather the primary data of this study. Administration and retrieval of the questionnaire was personally done by the researcher herself. And the secondary data was derived from the General Weighted Average (GWA) of the student-athletes gathered from the registrar.<br/><br/>		Result of the study shows that among the demographic profile variables, only the variables age, year level, sports engaged in, and highest level of competition participated in are the significant predictors of academic performance. The two academic motivation variables, i.e. the learning styles and study habits, are significant predictors of the academic performance of the respondents. The incentives and awards & recognition are significant positive predictors of academic performance of the student-athletes. Among the independent variables, demographic profile, academic motivation and sports motivation, the age, learning styles, incentives and awards & recognition are the only significant overall predictors of academic performance of the student-athletes. As ascertain by this set of findings, the age and learning styles negatively influence the academic performance of the student-athletes while the incentives and awards & recognition have positive influence to the dependent variable. As a whole, these set of predictors jointly influenced for approximately 98% of the variance of the academic performance.   Thesis (Master of Education - Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health)
