This study was conducted to assess agricultural mechanization in Nueva Vizcaya Through a comprehensive assessment, the study aimed to evaluate the status of agricultural mechanization, and its impact on various crops, identify constraints and opportunities, and understand farmers' perceptions towards mechanization. This study was conducted from November 2023 to June 2024 in Nueva Vizcava. The research employed quantitative methods, utilizing questionnaires and stratified sampling to gather data from 270 respondents across different production areas. Findings revealed a predominance of experienced male farmers, primarily married, with varying educational backgrounds and landholding sizes.
Mechanization levels varied across crops such as corn, high-value crops, and rice. Based on the results corn crop indicate higher mechanization in harvesting (43.3 hp/ha), followed by land preparation (38.9 hp/ha), compared to crop maintenance (3.5 hp/ha) High-value crop operations demonstrate manual labor dominance, except in land preparation (7.7 hp/ha) Rice production utilizes the highest mechanization level in harvesting (36 hp/ha) and mechanized plowing (21 hp/ha), with crop maintenance at 3.8 hp/ha. Mechanization levels varied across crops, with significant impacts noted on labor requirements, production yield, and farmers' income.
