The study generally aims to determine the presence and levels of residue in pigs fed with ractopamine hydrochloride supplemented ration Seventeen (17) kidney samples were collected from the slaughtered pigs fed with supplemented rations after slaughtering at Rizal, Nueva Ecija Slaughterhouse. The samples were run through ELISA test to determine of ractopamine residue.

Ractopamine residues were detected from the kidney of pigs fed with rations containing ractopamine Statistical analysis or the mean residue level in the kidney samples of pigs fed with different levels of ractopamine shows that there are no significant differences among the treatments.

Ractopamine residue level of pigs fed from starter to grower stage at a dose of 3ppm was below the maximum residue level (MRL) imposed by CODEX even though the experimental animal had a long period of exposure to the drug The same result was obtained from the pigs fed at finisher stage at a dose of 12ppm have ractopamine residue level that was below the maximum residue level The results indicates that ractopamine hydrochloride supplementation at a levels of 3ppm for starter to grower and 12ppm for finishing produce a low amount residues on the kidney and is within the MRI. imposed by CODEX.
