This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of supplementation of different levels of Gamma-Irradiated Carrageenan Extract (GICE) on the hematologic profile and production of IgG on broilers vaccinated with New Castle's Disease (NDV) vaccine A total of 150 heads of day-old broilers were used on this study The study was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design with the following treatments T1 negative control (not vaccinated with ND + 0% GICE supplementation), T2 positive control (vaccinated with ND+0% GICE supplementation), T1 vaccinated with ND + 5% GICE supplementation, T5 vaccinated with ND + 10% GICE supplementation and Ts vaccinated with ND + 15% GICE supplementation. Animals were assigned in 5 treatments replicated 3 times with 10 animals per replicate The study was conducted at NVSU Swine Project at Nueva Vizcaya State University Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya Animals were given different levels of GICE via drinking water for 45 days Blood samples were collected using the wing vein twice (days 25 and 42) for the Hematology Test and HI Titer Blood samples were processed using automated hematology analyzer to determine the different blood parameters while hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) tests were performed at the laboratory using standardized procedure. Results indicate that no detectable differences were observed in the blood parameters of animals in all treatments during the 1st and 2nd collection which means that supplementation of GICE did not have any adverse effects on the hemic system of the animals. Result of the HAI showed that supplementation of 15% GICE significantly increased the IgG levels of animals as shown in the dilution fold. This indicates that inclusion of 15% GICE can boost the immune system by increasing the number of protective IgG produced by the animals.
