The COVID-19 pandemic caused serious problems in the lives of students especially on the abrupt change from face-to-face to distance learning. This increased their academic stress and affected their scientific reasoning and scientific performance. This study established the levels of academic stress, self-determination, and academic satisfaction among sor high school learners and their predictive ability on scientific reasoning and science performance Data were collected from senior high school students in the two districts of Maddela, Division of Quirino Five variables were examined academic stress, self-determination, academic satisfaction, level of scientific reasoning. and scientific performance Data gathered were analyzed using the SPSS 22 (Trial Version) employing the Frequency counts, Mean, Standard Deviations, Pearson Moment Coefficient of Correlation (Pearson-r), and multiple levels of regression.

Findings indicate that despite having high levels of academic stress, students show a high level of confidence and self-determination to succeed. The students are also fairly satisfied in most of the sub-factors and exhibit satisfaction along the interaction-participation of distance learning Conversely, the students are categorized as "concrete operational" on the level of scientific reasoning while they have "satisfactory" performance in science in distance learning during the pandemic. On the degree of relationship among variables, academic stress is significantly related to academic performance and scientific reasoning during distance learning Academic stress is perceived as a significant predictor of academic performance in science during distance learning.
