The study focused on the establishment of an enhanced learning material in Physics based on the level of performance of the respondents before and after the implementation of the (Physics Education Technology) PhET simulations measured on the different learning competencies. Specifically, it identified the demographic profile of the respondents, levels of performance based on pretest and posttest, and the significant difference on levels of performance according to profile variables. As a result, the researcher crafted an enhanced learning material aimed at improving the level of performance of the respondents.
Descriptive-inferential design on a single group pre-test-post-test design was implemented where 84 randomly selected Grade 8 students were given pretests and posttests. Their mean scores were used as measure of their level of performance, corresponding to the descriptive statistics utilized. Moreover, the normalized gain scores were also computed to establish a description for the level of increase in the performance of the students based on module topics.
The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was employed where the pretest means scores of the students per module served as the covariates for the dependent variables which were the posttest can store. ANCOVA was used to establish the significant differences in the level of performance the respondents before and after the implementation of the PhET simulation activities.
Results showed that students mostly spend one to five hours on the internet or gadgets in a They had low level of performance before and after PhET simulations but normalized gain scores were observed ranging from low to moderate levels. Moreover, no significant difference in the level of performance of the students were recorded when grouped according to profile variables.
