The purpose of this research was to assess the implementation of flexible learning and the career prospects of Nueva Vizcaya State University Hospitality Management graduating students.
This study specifically sought to determine the demographic profile of BSHM graduating students, as well as their perceptions of the effectiveness of flexible learning implementation, career outlooks, and prospective career choices. Additionally, the significant differences between variables were investigated. A descriptive-inferential research design was used in the study. A three-part survey was distributed to the 95 BSHM graduating students. The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results revealed that the 95 student respondents were mostly in their late teens, ranging in age from 20 to 22, females, used mobile phones for online studies, and primarily connected to the internet via mobile data. The student respondents' overall perception of the effects of flexible learning was positive. They primarily believed that the implemented flexible learning required them to plan for and take precautionary measures in dealing with their future as hospitality professionals. Following that, they discovered that flexible learning had a positive psychological impact on their students' ability to learn independently and focus on their schoolwork during the pandemic. Furthermore, student respondents were found to be optimistic about their future careers. Among the possible career paths for the student-respondents, they would almost certainly go into the restaurant industry as stewards. They are, however, the least likely to pursue a career in convention sales. Students with Wi-Fi internet access also viewed flexible learning as a much more important measure for their future in the hospitality workforce than those with both Wi-Fi and mobile data access, but not those with only mobile data access. Student-respondents have nearly equal career prospects regardless of demographic variables. Lastly, the findings revealed that there are no significant differences between the demographic profile of the BSHM graduating students and their perceptions on the effects of flexible learning. However, there was a significant difference in their perceptions of the effects of flexible learning in terms of the preparations and measurements of the hospitality workforce when grouped according to their internet profile.
