A cross-sectional study was done to determine the prevalence of Ehrlichia canis infection in dogs in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya using a commercially available indirect lateral flow immunochromatographic assay Forty-seven canine blood samples were used in the study. Results revealed an over-all seroprevalence of 27.33% with Bonfal East having the highest seroprevalence at 55.55% (5/9) from among the five barangays included in the study. Among the animal characteristics, breed was found to be associated with Ehrlichiosis seropositivity. Seroprevalence of Ehrlichia Canis was higher in the Philippine Native Dog breed compared to non-PND (p<.05) Age and sex, on the other hand, are not substantially linked with the seroprevalence of Ehrlichiosis (p>.05). Current tick infestation, mucous membranes status, and body condition scores (BCS) were also not found to be associated with Ehrlichia Canis seropositivity (p>05). Results of this study revealed that Ehrlichiosis is prevalent in dogs in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. Further studies are recommended to identify the major risk factors associated with Ehrlichiosis that will be helpful in its prevention and control.
