500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note This study aimed to evaluate the performance of briquettes from a mahogany fruit shell, sawdust, rice husk, a combination of mahogany fruit shell and sawdust, a combination of rice husk and sawdust, a combination of mahogany fruit shell and rice husk, and combination of mahogany fruit shell, rice husk and sawdust, in terms of moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content, fixed carbon, calorific value, mass density. ignition time, buming rate and perform simple cost analysis.<br/>In terms of moisture content, rice husk briquettes had the lowest, an indicator of high-quality briquette. The lowest ash content of mahogany fruit shell briquettes correlates a higher heating value. Additionally, rice husk briquettes had the highest volatile matter content and easy combustion. The fixed carbon content of briquettes from mahogany fruit shell, mahogany fruit shell + sawdust, and mahogany fruit shell + rice husk yielded high values, which implies smokeless flame. Mahogany fruit shell briquettes exhibited the highest calorific value, ideal for cooking, heating, and grilling. In mass density, rice husk was the densest material for briquette production. Mahogany fruit shells, rice husk + sawdust briquettes demonstrated the best ignition time. For the burning rate and water boiling tests, mahogany fruit shell briquettes proved to be better in boiling water. A total production cost of Php 924, gross income of Php 1625, and a 75% return was computed.<br/>
