General note A study was conducted to determine the management practices of native pigs in the rural villages in eight barangays of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya Native pig population in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya constitutes a small percentage of the overall pig population of the said province. There is little documented information regarding the management of native pigs in Bayombong Hence, the study was conducted to inspect/scrutinize the smallholders native pig project management practices in particular areas in Bayombong, to advance production and condense public health risks, since smallholders pig farming in the said municipality is an important means of livelihood The identification of common parasites of the indigenous pig will help the raiser improve their knowledge on how to prevent the proliferation of the parasitic disease.<br/>Most of the native pigs examined/inspected come from Cabuaan (36%), Ipil Cuneg (21%), 9% each from Bansing and Busilac, and 6% each from Casat, Magapuy. Masoc and Upper Magsaysay All were positive to strongyle Majority of the animals are 11 to 20 (42%), and 21to 30 months old (39%) Females constitute64% and 36 percent are males So far, forage is the number one type of feeding (76%), followed by feeds (21%) and only three percent for darak feeding Their housing type is semi-permanent which is about 40 percent and 33 and seven percent for under the trees and concrete type, respectively Majority of these animals are under wormed (82%) and none of them were vaccinated yet. <br/>One hundred percent of external parasites found were flies (Musca Domestica), and the fecalysis results show that 15% and 12% of these animals were positive to Ascaris sp. and Trichuris sp., respectively but all were positive to strongyle. The 15% that were found positive to Ascaris came from Bansing, Cabuaan, Casat, Ipilcuneg and Masoc. While 12% came from Bansing, Busilac, Cabauaan and Magapuy.<br/><br/>
