500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note This study made use of twenty-seven (27) weanling native pigs to determine their fecal bacterial colony count after feeding them with different diets namely basal diet without effective microorganisms (EM) for treatment 1. basal diet with 50 ml EM. for treatment 2 and basal diet with 100 ml EM for treatment 3.

The initial, second, third and sixth fecal collections for bacterial colony counts revealed no significant differences among the three treatments. However, the first fecal collection for bacterial colony count showed treatment 1 with 50.67, treatment 2 with 49.33 and treatment 3 with 48.33 number of colonies and the fourth fecal collection for bacterial colony count showed treatment 1 with 87.67, treatment 2 with 42.33 and treatment 3 with 48 50 number of colonies Statistical analysis manifested that the first and fourth fecal counts had significant differences among the number of colony treatment means Moreover, the fifth fecal collection for bacterial colony count divulged treatment 1 with 170.33, treatment 2 with 248.33 and treatment 3 with 268 50 number of colonies. Significant differences among the treatment means on the number of colonies disclosed significant differences. The increase and decrease of bacterial count may be attributed to the presence of beneficial microorganisms in the EM that inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria.

As to the relationship on the number of colonies of the treatments with the fecal consistency, it manifested that the first bacterial colony count with statistically different treatment means had T1 with 50.67 and feces consistency of 5.0 (hard), T2 with 49.33 and feces consistency of 50 (hard) and T3 with 48.33 had feces consistency of 3.67 (normal) The fourth bacterial colony count with statistically different treatment means had T1 with 87.67 and feces consistency of 5 (hard), T2 with 42.33 and feces consistency of 3 (normal) and T3 with 48.50 number of colonies and feces consistency of 3 (normal).

Likewise, the 5th bacterial colony count with statistically different treatment means such as T1 with 170.33 had feces consistency of 3.67 (normal), 12 with 248.33 had feces consistency of 4.33 (between normal and hard) and T3 with 268.50 number of colonies had a feces consistency of 4.0 (between normal and hard).

The correlation between bacterial colony counts and fecal consistency revealed a weak relationship between the variables although there is a positive correlation.
