| General note | This study attempts to provide an overview about Gender Inequality in the Engineering Offices Among Selected Local Government Units in Nueva Vizcaya. This study aims to identify the effect, barriers, factors, and contributions among the engineering offices among the selected local government.<br/><br/> This research study aimed to investigate gender inequality in engineering offices among selected Local Government Units (LGUs) in Nueva Vizcaya, a province in the Philippines. By employing a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, this study sought to explore the representation, experiences, and barriers faced by women in engineering roles within these offices.<br/><br/> It investigates gender inequality in the construction industry. It outlines the overall approach, research design, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques used in the study. In this study, the focus was specifically on the LGU (Local Government Units) Engineering Offices in the municipalities of Bagabag, Solano, and Bayombong in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya.<br/><br/> The quantitative analysis revealed significant gender disparities in engineering representation, indicating a notable underrepresentation of women within the selected LGUs' engineering offices. Furthermore, qualitative analysis shed light on the experiences of women working in these offices, uncovering gender-based discrimination, implicit biases, and unequal access to resources and opportunities as prevailing challenges.<br/><br/> According to overall findings for the barriers, women are degraded in terms of their strength at construction work, people's traditions, social conventions, beliefs, and practices, and the absence of body structure and strength of women's first three significant workplace hurdles The research's overall findings reveal that the first theme significant contributions made bry participants in their workplace are new ideas and unconventional tactics, a more thorough, connected, and collaborative sector-wide effort, favorable effects on industry culture, and improvements in employees mental health. The participants traditional attitudes, their ability to adapt in the job, and gender stereotypes are the first three crucial elements in their workplace. according to the overall findings for the factors. <br/><br/> Overall results for the effect show that has an effect on a person's ability, motivation, and effectiveness in their work performance. Women are rapidly entering the workforce, but froquently in the informal economy, which is dominated by low-paying and poorly protected jobs that endanger their reproductive health and, as a result, the welfare of their families.<br/><br/> Findings underscored the urgent need for inclusive policies, awareness programs, and gender-responsive initiatives to address the barriers hindering women's career progression in engineering. Work-life balance challenges, limited mentoring, and networking opportunities emerged as significant obstacles that require targeted interventions.<br/><br/> The extensive review of the literature and studies relevant to the topic of gender inequality in the construction industry and its potential impact on promoting gender equality and fostering inclusive work environments in engineering offices within LGUs<br/><br/> This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge on gender inequality in engineering, specifically within the context of LGUs in Nueva Vizcaya. The insights gained from this study can inform policymakers, government agencies, and organizations in implementing strategies that foster gender equality, enhance diversity, and create more inclusive work environments within engineering offices. Overall, this study advances the understanding of gender inequality in engineering offices, serving as a foundation for future efforts to promote gender equity and inclusivity in engineering workplaces in Nueva Vizcaya and beyond. |
