| General note | The Vertical Agriculture for Cooling Buildings setup was conducted at the barangay hall of Socbot, Pinukpuk, Kalinga from August to October 2023. This study generally aimed to reduce temperature over a large area with the use of vertical hydroponics agriculture. The building was divided into two, one room where the setup was installed and the other room for a completely normal room. The setup has a height of 2.75m and 16m in length covering the outer wall and compares the heat transfer between the two rooms. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference in ambient temperatures between the rooms, with the room without the setup averaging 32.29 deg * C and the room with the setup averaging 29.32 deg * C The setup led to decreases of 6.03 deg * C in ambient temperature, 7.62 deg * C in outside wall temperature, 5.57 deg * C in inside wall temperature, and a reduction in heat transfer of 4.19. The thermal conductivity of the setup was calculated at 7.06 * 10 ^ - 3 * K / W and the cooling efficiency was measured at 51.48%, highlighting the effectiveness of the hydroponics setup in reducing temperatures. Simple randomized survey was conducted to determine the acceptability of the set-up that yielded to the substantial positive responses (extremely favorable and favorable) which is 55% of the respondents suggest potential interest or openness to adopting vertical hydroponics for cooling purposes. The Simple Economic Analysis resulted in a Return on Investment (ROI) of 239.70% and a Payback Period (PB) of only 5 months, highlighting both impressive profitability and a swift financial recovery.
