This study ascertained the predictors of the school-based Management and Wash in School Program in the Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya. Specifically, this study described the school characteristics in terms of level of school, classification of school, member of students, number of teachers, MOOE fund for WinS, number of utility personnel, number of medical personnel, health facility, number of wash station, number of toilets, frequency of potability testing of drinking water, and number of water dispensers drinking stations, investigated the level of School-Based Management in terms of accountability and continuous improvement, curriculum and instruction, leadership and governance, and resource management; assessed the extent of implementation of Wash in School Program in terms of deworming, health education, hygiene, sanitation and water, evaluated the significant interrelationship among school characteristics, School-based Management and Wash in School Program; determined the significant predictors of School-based Management, and examined the significant predictors of Wash in School Program in both elementary and junior school level.<br/><br/>This study employed the predictive research design. It was conducted in the Schools Division of Nueva Vizcaya in the School Year 2023-2024. The respondents of the study answer the coordinators of WinS and, in the absence of the respondent, the School Heads were allowed to give the necessary information of their schools utilizing the Standardized DepEd Wash in Schools (WinS) Monitoring Form as the main instrument in gathering the needed information. Descriptive Statistics, such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, were used to describe the school characteristic, level of SBM, and extent of implementation of wash in school program. The focus group discussion was used to collect qualitative information from the school heads. It discussed some of the important questions from the monitoring tool regarding the school-based Management and Wash in School Program. Inferential statistics, such as correlation procedures, were employed for the interrelationships between and among the variables, and Stepwise Regression Analysis was employed for the test of predictability.<br/><br/>Findings showed that the school-based Management exceled across key dimensions: accountability, curriculum, leadership, and resource management, with high mean scores indicating effective governance and continuous improvement in educational institutions. Schools demonstrated robust implementation of Wash in School Program components, emphasizing deworming, health education, hygiene, sanitation, and water access, with an overall strong implementation rating. As school levels increased, student member, teacher number, expenses, utility and medical personnel, and school clinic presence decreased. As certain school characteristics increased or decreased, changed in a comes ponding direction, suggesting interdependence and potential implications for source allocation and staffing decisions. Improvements in one aspect, such as school resources or Wash in School program components, could coincide with enhancements in School-based Management, fostering comprehensive development and efficient resurrection the presence of wash stations and frequency of potability testing meaningfully impacted School-Based Management practices, highlighting the importance of hygiene infrastructure and water quality monitoring in educational administrative frameworks. Wash station availability and student number were key predictors of Wash in School Program implementation. Lastly, potability testing undesirably impacted program implementation, emphasizing the role of infrastructure and water quality monitoring.<br/> |
