| General note | The study aims to determine citizen e-participation practices in the barangay local government units of Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya and made use of mixed-method research design through a structured questionnaire and personal interview to attain the objectives of the study. The results and findings were presented in narrative method indicated in tabular forms.<br/><br/>Results of the study show that (a) Facebook is the most utilized media application in e-participation; (b) appointment scheduling is the most used barangay transaction in barangay e-participation; (c) c-participation mostly involved participation in governance; (d) barangay citizen e-participation practices such as information, dissemination, compliance of private institutions to local ordinances, awareness of residents to barangay activities and programs, and online engagement of residents, are oftentimes practiced; (e) e-participation is practiced in the barangay local governance, however, issues and challenges such as technology access, technology proficiency, and instruction are encountered resulting to fall short in prospects.<br/><br/>The study developed a model to improve the implementation of e-participation in the barangay based on the issues and challenges encountered which requires collaborative actions of essential government agencies.<br/><br/>Keywords: Citizen e-participation, e-governance, ICT, Barangay Local Governance, Development Model in e-participation.<br/><br/> |
