500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note This study identified the hotspot of dengue cases in the province of Nueva Vizcaya, consequently knowing the prevention practices of the hotspot and cold spot areas. Confirmed dengue cases in the fifteen municipalities of Nueva Vizcaya served as the source of data of the study. Descriptive statistics such as frequency count was utilized to determine the number of dengue cases in each barangay of the province. Furthermore, frequency count was also used in analyzing the prevention practices of the dengue hotspots and dengue cold spots. In identifying clustering and dengue hotspots, the Moran's I and Getis Ord Gi from Geographical Information System (GIS) were used. Results showed that the most number of reported dengue cases were found at the center of the province. Three-fourths of the 275 barangays of Nueva Vizcaya had reported dengue cases. In addition, spatial clustered patterns existed and were not attributed to random chance. There were 22 barangays and 14 barangays at the hotspot and coldspot areas within 99% confidence interval. Comparing the prevention practices of the two groups, results revealed that barangays in the coldspot areas implement dengue prevention programs more stringently. Moreover, the proposed modified dengue prevention program was based on the most practiced dengue prevention programs in the coldspot areas.

Keywords: Dengue Cases, Hotspots, Prevention Programs, Spatial Clustered Patterns.
