| General note | This study focused on the Safety Management of Construction Project Initiative, Constraints and Improvement Measures: Its Implications to the Selected Construction Firms at Municipality of Bambang and Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya. The selected construction firms having a total of six currently working in Bayombong are the PRIMEBUILT Construction and Supply, having a PCAB Category of B, CDJ Construction and Supply, having a PCAB Category of A, WINLEI Construction and Supply, having a PCAB Category of D, MN Coloma Construction, having a PCAB Category of E, Jhuers Construction, having a PCAB Category of B, and Arnold and Dominador Construction Services, having a PCAB Category of D, while Gercel Construction and Development Group Inc, having a PCAB Category of AAA is currently working in Bambang. All of these selected construction firm has an on-going vertical construction project owned by government.<br/><br/> This study attempted to identify the demographic profile of the respondents, safety management practices present in the selected construction firms, constraints associated with the safety management practices and measures to improve upon safety of new on-going government vertical management project by using Percentage, Frequency Distribution and Measures of Central Tendency.<br/> This study employed descriptive quantitative research design. A survey questionnaire was distributed to the sixty-seven respondents which is divided into two groups. The total of sixty-seven respondents consists of seven foreman, seven project managers, and fifty-three laborers.<br/><br/> The study revealed that majority of workers are all males aging from forty-five years old and above. In addition, most of them has onlv zero to five years length of service. Majority of them starts their work at 7:30 AM and ends at 4:50 PM a day. Moreover, the data gathered shows that the respondents has a high level of safety management practices. Most of the foreman and project managers agreed that lack of ability of the workers can cause accident which means that this is the main constraints associated with the implementation of safety management. Lastly, respondents agreed that service and update equipment regularly is the most priority to improve upon safety.<br/><br/> The results indicated that safety management of construction projects on the selected constructions at Bambang and Bayombong Nueva Vizcaya have high level of safety management practices. But when it comes to constraints, lack of ability of the workers can accident need to be noticed by the foreman or project manager and when it comes to measures upon safety, service and update equipment regularly is highly priority for improvement. Future research is needed to provide stronger and reliable results. It is advised to have a larger respondent and use DOLE (COSH) as their reference in constructing questionnaires. It is also recommended to use advance or modern statistical treatment for their data analysis. |
