| General note | The primary goal of this research is to discover the factors that influence fresh graduates' employability in the hotel industry in Nueva Vizcaya. Specifically, it aimed to provide a full description of the respondents' demographic profile, physical appearance, soft competencies, work experience, and education as variables that influence fresh graduate's employability in the hotel industry. The descriptive-survey approach was employed in this study to identify characteristics associated with fresh graduates' employability in the hotel industry in Nueva Vizcaya. A two-part survey questionnaire was distributed to twenty-four human resources. A third of the respondents are between the ages of 28 and 33 years. In terms of sex, females outnumber males. Meanwhile, two-thirds of those polled are married, with the remaining one-third unmarried. Finally, the majority of respondents are at the start of their Human Resource careers, having spent one to four years as Human Resource/Hiring Manager. Among the four factors associated to fresh graduate's employability, soft competencies and work experience top the list, followed by physical appearance and education. From these results, the respondents prioritize the personal and analytical skills and their work experience as on-the-job trainees of the applicants as criteria for employability. There are significant relationships between the profile variables: and the particular attributes on physical appearance and work experience. Based on the results, it signifies that the civil status and time spent as Human Resource managers of the respondents have an influence on their preferences on height, weight, complexion, workshops attended, industry related seminar and participation in awareness of the fresh graduate applicants<br/><br/>Keywords: Human Resource/Hiring Manager perceptions; fresh graduates employability; associated factors. |
