500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note The study aimed to determine the effects of cutting source and level of IBA and their interaction effects on percent survival, percent rooting, number of adventitious roots, length of adventitious roots and development of callus. It also aimed to determine the most effective and most economical source of cuttings and level of IBA on the different parameters.

The study found out that the percent survival of the Tibig stem cuttings was significantly influenced by source of cuttings (matured tree and wildlings). The cuttings from wildlings exhibited the highest survival rate (100%) as compared to the survival rate of cuttings from matured tree (38.75%). The different levels also significantly influenced the survival rate where TO (No IBA) gave the highest survival rate (87.50%) and comparable with cuttings applied with 200 ppm and 400 ppm of IBA. The interaction effect of source of cuttings and levels of IBA showed that cuttings from wildlings had 100% survival than those cuttings from matured tree.

The rooting percentage of Tibig stem cuttings was affected by the source of cuttings, levels of IBA and its interaction effect. The cuttings taken from wildlings had 100% rooting while cuttings from matured tree had 38.75%. The highest rooting percentage (87.50%) was observed on the untreated cuttings but is comparable with those cuttings applied with 200 ppm and 400 ppm IBA. On the interaction effect cuttings taken from wildlings had 100% rooting while those from matured tree rooting had 75% rooting.

The number of roots produced by Tibig stem cuttings was significantly affected by the sources of cuttings. Those cuttings taken from wildlings had 153.31 number of roots produced while those taken from matured tree had 52.13.
The length of adventitious roots was significantly affected by the sources of cuttings, levels of IBA and its interaction effect. Stem cuttings from wildlings gave the longest roots (85.60 mm) and those cuttings taken from matured tree had 52.68 mm.
The development of callus was affected by the sources of cutting and levels of IBA.

Cuttings taken from wildlings had percent callusing of 92.50% as compared to those taken from matured tree with only 40.62%.

Based from the results of the study, the best source in the propagation of Tibig using stem cuttings were wildlings than matured tree. The application of IBA appeared not needed for Tibig stem cuttings. The said species is found to be easy to root, thus there is no need to apply rooting hormone like IBA.

Further research is hereby recommended for propagation of Tibig using stem cuttings considering other parameters like different rooting media, age of wildlings and matured tree and its growth and survival in the field.
