Prevalence of tuberculosis Iin selected goat farm in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya/ Jonalyn C. Del Rosario - Bayombong: Nueva Vizcaya State University, 2009. - xii, 29 leaves : photos ; 28 cm.
The study was conducted in August 2008 in selected goat farms in Bambang. Nueva Vizcaya. It aimed to determine the presence of tuberculosis infection among goat stocks using Tuberculin Test.
A total of 58 goats aging from birth and above were used in the study Classification and sex of animal were assessed in relation to the occurrence of tuberculosis in goats. Furthermore, the "Tuberculin PPD intradermic" was administered intradermally on the neck or cervical region.
The survey study using tuberculin test showed that no test animal reacted positively to tuberculosis. This means that caprine tuberculosis is apparently absent in all the experimental animals at selected farms in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
It is recommended that the farm personnel should continue their health management practices in their farm, so that the occurrence of tuberculosis will be prevented. Research similar with the present study using greater number of animals to be tested should be conducted. Studies on the incidence or occurrence of tuberculosis using other animals like cattle and horse are also recommended.
