A comparative study on the efficacy of ipil-ipil (leucaena glauca linn.) seed, squash (cucurbita maxim duchesne) seed and akapulko (cassia alata linn.) seed as dewormers in native chickens / Lourens M. The study was conducted to compare the efficacy of ipıl-ipil seed, squash seed and akapulko seed as dewormers in native chickens The study was laid out following the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments, each treatment replicated three times T1-fenbendazole (positive control), 12- water (negative), 13-2g powdered ipil-ipil seed, 14- 5g powdered squash seed and 15- 5g powdered akapulko seed.
Result shows that ipıl-ıpıl, squash and akapulko seeds are highly effective against Heterakis. Results were comparable to the commercial dewormer, fenbendazole Two treatments (ipil-pil and squash seeds) against Capillaria were ineffective while akapulko seed was highly effective on the 12th day post treatment and has comparable efficacy with that of the positive control, fenbendazole.
