Academic performance and level of satisfaction on flexible learning of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) students amidst covid-19 pandemic / Nadine Joy P. Alac, Irish Mae G. Basbas, Jay-B E. The primary goal of this research is to survey and determine the effects of COVID-19 on academic performance and satisfaction with flexible learning among Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) Hospitality Management students.
Specifically, this study sought to determine the demographic profile of the hospitality management students, their perceived effects of the COVID-19 on their academic performance, their level of satisfaction on flexible learning and the interplay of the variables.
The BSHM 3rd year students currently enrolled in the first semester of academic year 2021-2022 served as the population of the study wherein 94 students were randomly selected as respondents. They were given a three-part survey questionnaire floated using Google Forms. The first part was allotted for the respondents' profile, while the second measured the effects of COVID-19 on their academic performance and the third, their level of satisfaction regarding the implementation of the flexible learning.
According to the findings, the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the academic performance of NVSU Hospitality Management students. Although COVID-19 had a detrimental impact on their studies such as in technology and communication, the majority of its consequences were beneficial focused on career achievement. Similarly, the level of satisfaction in flexible learning of the students is acceptable. The respondents were clearly motivated to do online learning and appreciate their teachers' efforts.
