The field experiment was conducted at Barangay Kayapa Proper east, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya to evaluate the growth performance of onion leeks under Automated Drip Fertigation and Manual Drip Fertigation system for one cropping season
The result of the study revealed that Automated Drip Fertigation onion leeks have significantly better growth, yields than those subjected to Manual Drip Fertigation Automated drip fertigation was recorded heavier with a mean weight of 1802g, as compared to manual drip fertigation onion leeks with a mean weight of 900 g. The Water Use Efficiency of onion is better under automated drip fertigation with an average of 68.19 kg/ha-mm³ than manual drip fertigation 25.63 kg/ha-mm³ in average. As water usage efficiency rises over time, less water is required to create the same amount of output. The data reveals a significant difference in both yield and water usage efficiency between onion leeks cultivated under an automated drip fertigation system and those under a manual drip system. Therefore, employing an automated drip fertigation system results in higher yields and better water usage efficiency for onion leek production.
