The study was conducted to modify, fabricate, and evaluate the performance of a manually operated two-tow fertilizer applicator for eggplant crop in terms of field capacity, delivery field efficiency, and delivery rate.
The major components are fertilizer storage bag, fertilizer storage bag, flexible tube, grip handle, height adjustment, fertilizer tube, fertilizer metering device, discharge chute and hole opening device.
The results showed that using the complete fertilizer, the field capacity of the two-row fertilizer applicator was 0.048 ha/hr. The delivery field efficiency of the applicator using complete fertilizer was 83.5% while the delivery rate was 167 kg/ha.
The initial cost of investment used in the fabrication of the fertilizer applicator was P2534.00. The applicator has a total annual cost of P15, 131.69. Using the fertilizer applicator for 288 hours per year can generate an income of P7908.31. It has a break-even point of 0.00235 and return if investment of 312.08%. The projected time to recover the cost of the device was 0.32 year on a 0.048 ha/hr fertilizing capacity.
