To assess the effect of Curcuma longa (Turmeric) supplementation in commercial broilers, a total of one hundred fifty (150) broilers were randomly distributed to five treatment groups with three replications. Ten broilers were assigned in each replicate.

The study was laid out following the complete randomized design (CRD) and the data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Treatment 1 served as the negative control, whereas birds in Treatments 2, 3, 4 and 5 were supplemented with 0.50%, 1.00%, 1.50% and 2.00% with Curcuma longa powder, respectively. The trial lasted for 35 days.

The results revealed that a turmeric-supplemented diet positively affected the growth performance and feed efficiency The highest mean weight was observed in birds fed diet containing turmeric at level 2.00% followed by birds that received 1.50%, 100%, 0.50% and control. Based on the data of average daily gain (ADG) among treatment groups, Treatment 5 had the highest ADG whereas Treatment I had the lowest ADG Moreover, birds that received 2.00% turmeric in their diets had the best feed conversion ratio of 1.89 as compared to control and other treated groups.

The study revealed that there was significant effect on the growth performance and higher gross profit per bird offered with 2% turmeric powder in feed.
